A Historic and Exciting day for our country!!!

Landon showing his patriotism today!  It is such an important day for our country!
Addison also showing her love for the USA!  Bill is working in the office but came down to see if the swearing in had happened!
I am super excited for the hope that today brings our country!  I feel like we can now collectively just breath a sigh of relief!

This inauguration looked a lot different.  There were fewer spectators due to Covid-19 as well as security concerns.  The mall was filled with flags instead of people! But the inauguration still took place at the Capitol!  I loved the message that was sent today by President Biden!  It was a hopeful message!

History in the making!  Our VERY FIRST female to hold a national office! VP Harris! It is a proud day to be an American...however, we have a lot of healing to do!

There was an amazing Poet Amanda Gorman...my favorite line
"There is always light, if only we're brave enough, to see it.  If only we're brave enough to be it."

The question that Landon had at school today was
"What would you do if you were President?
Landon said that he would allow military people to get paid more and sports stars to be paid less.  "Military people do hard things...sports players just play sports!"

Then when asked who he would choose for his VP...it was his Dad!!
(I LOVE THIS!)

January 18th A NEW Chapter!

January 18th!
A new chapter for our family!  Today was the day that Bill moved from a uniform to a suit!  He started his fellowship with Core Development Group (a solar company)!  It was an exciting day!  Of course, it was from home!  But successful none-the-less! He is still 'officially' in the Navy until May...but this is an amazing opportunity through 'Hiring Our Heros'.  We are excited that this internship could work into a full time job in April!
From this ....

to this....

No matter which outfit he is wearing I am a super proud wife!

It was also 'Gourmet Coffee Day' according to Landon's calendar that he got for Christmas!  So here is what I got... He made Keurig coffee...then added steamed milk and cinnamon (he said he thought that would be fancy!).  He cracks me up!

January 2021..Hopeful for a better 2021

Well, it has been a LONG time since I have posted anything to this blog but I have a new goal of printing a family year book each year.  I have been doing research and want to use this blog to remember things and keep my pictures in yet another place.  I have started my 2020 book...that one is a bit overwhelming!  But to keep things simple I am going to post here!

New Years- Marvel Movie Marathon for Addi, LJ and Bill ... I hadn't watched any of the other movies so watching the last one would't make much sense.  I did some little projects and cleaned up.  It is this time of year when organization becomes my focus.  Why is that? Just like in December I want all things peppermint.  Oh well!

Thai food helped us ring in the new year!

January 5th-Back to virtual School...Addi and Landon have done a great job of time management and life skills this year!  I think they have learned a lot and are succeeding.  So at this point rather than stressing about it being a lost year I feel like we are all well physically and mentally and for that I am thrilled. Addi and Landon get along better than they ever have finding like interests.  They listened to some many hours pod cast together, bike the estuary together and bake together.  A win in my book!

January 6th- This was a rough day for our country!  We watched as Trump gave a speech at a rally in Washington D.C. that encouraged his followers to go to the Capitol (where the electorate votes were being cast) he also told them to "fight harder" and that the election got "stolen".  The events that followed were terrifying.  We saw a terrorist attack unfold before our eyes.  The Capitol building was overtaken by rioters.  An insurrection was caused by our President.

Here are some headlines in papers around the country the next day......

The count down is on...if feels like we should REALLY celebrate the New Year once we have a new administration.  It just feels fresher and hopeful!

The coronavirus is hitting Southern California hard!  There is little to no ICU space in several hospitals. However, on the flip side the vaccination is being given out as quickly as possible to those that qualify.  There is an order to which they are giving it.  So again...hopeful!

January 13- Today is exciting because Bill started his internship!  Yeah for something new....a path forward to his new career!

Addi-Mommy Date

August 16- We were lucky enough to get a little mommy/daughter time away tonight.  Landon got to go and hang out with his best pal Bryce while Addison and I went to the Lauren Daigle concert.  It was several artists but the one that I was most excited about was Lauren Daigle...Addison really has loved her music.  Salt and Light was the song that Addison sang with Jeana.  It ended up being a late night but we had a lot of fun.  We went to dinner before the concert....it was lots of fun!

The Busiahn's Visit San Diego!!!

We had a fantastic time when Steph and the boys and Mom visited San Diego.  We went to the beach, went and saw the seals in La Joya, swam at the pool, played at the park...it was just a great time!  We even got some photos taken!  woohoo!!!!
Some beautiful kiddos!  Adorable cousins!!!

Aqua Camp

August 7-11- Addison and Landon attended Aqua camp this week at the Crown Cove Aquatic Center.  It was a great camp!  They got to try all kinds of water sports!  Stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, sailing, boogie boarding, kayaking...it was great!  The last day I got to come and they took me sailing.  I got totally wacked in the face with the sail....oh well.  It was fun that Addi and Landon could have a shared experience.  By the end of the week each of them had friends.  It was great to see.  Landon's favorite friend was Jack, a kiddo much older but they had a great time playing!

We left Aqua camp and headed to the airport to pick up our guests!  The Busiahn's and my mom are coming!!!

Happy 7th Birthday Landon!!!!

July 28-August 3- We started the Birthday celebration a little early since Daddy was going to be out on the ship.  Landon was SUPER excited about his new jersey and a sleeve.  He wore it two days and then I told him I NEEDED to wash it.

On the day we had a fun morning with doughnuts...then a fun lunch at Corvette Diner.  It was the first time that we had ever gone there...it was so much fun.  The kiddos had a blast.  I was the mom of the year for a minute!  We found out that Landon is really crazy good at Skeeball!   Who knew?  He really is my Dad!  On our way home he called Papa with a challenge!!!  Then in the afternoon Landon had a birthday party at the pool.  It was not like any party I had ever done....ordered pizza, bought snacks...it was so easy!

SkeeBall champ...I think the machine was broken though cause it just kept giving us balls!  Woohoo!!!
