January 2021..Hopeful for a better 2021

Well, it has been a LONG time since I have posted anything to this blog but I have a new goal of printing a family year book each year.  I have been doing research and want to use this blog to remember things and keep my pictures in yet another place.  I have started my 2020 book...that one is a bit overwhelming!  But to keep things simple I am going to post here!

New Years- Marvel Movie Marathon for Addi, LJ and Bill ... I hadn't watched any of the other movies so watching the last one would't make much sense.  I did some little projects and cleaned up.  It is this time of year when organization becomes my focus.  Why is that? Just like in December I want all things peppermint.  Oh well!

Thai food helped us ring in the new year!

January 5th-Back to virtual School...Addi and Landon have done a great job of time management and life skills this year!  I think they have learned a lot and are succeeding.  So at this point rather than stressing about it being a lost year I feel like we are all well physically and mentally and for that I am thrilled. Addi and Landon get along better than they ever have finding like interests.  They listened to some many hours pod cast together, bike the estuary together and bake together.  A win in my book!

January 6th- This was a rough day for our country!  We watched as Trump gave a speech at a rally in Washington D.C. that encouraged his followers to go to the Capitol (where the electorate votes were being cast) he also told them to "fight harder" and that the election got "stolen".  The events that followed were terrifying.  We saw a terrorist attack unfold before our eyes.  The Capitol building was overtaken by rioters.  An insurrection was caused by our President.

Here are some headlines in papers around the country the next day......

The count down is on...if feels like we should REALLY celebrate the New Year once we have a new administration.  It just feels fresher and hopeful!

The coronavirus is hitting Southern California hard!  There is little to no ICU space in several hospitals. However, on the flip side the vaccination is being given out as quickly as possible to those that qualify.  There is an order to which they are giving it.  So again...hopeful!

January 13- Today is exciting because Bill started his internship!  Yeah for something new....a path forward to his new career!
