So, Bill has been registered for the Army 10 miler for some time now. Since registration opened....well his training went about like mine for my second half marathon....it didn't really happen. So he was hesitant about wanting to run it. I decided that it would be more fun if we ran it together. By chance we were able to get a sitter so I went on Craigslist and was able to buy a bib from someone for $50. Bill and I left at o'dark thirty and went into the Pentagon where the race started. We decided to run into a grocery store to go to the bathroom....us and everyone else...we waited forever! We lined up and in not too long began the ten mile journey. So, as we were starting I figured out when the last time was that I ran more than 10 miles....it had been 16 months ago. I am not smart or fast! It was fun though getting to run with Bill. I kinda sucked it up on the 14th street bridge. I was telling my body to go faster but it was NOT listening...I guess that is what I get for not training or even running all that much in the last year! The 14th strew bridge is NEVER ENDING! Regardless we finished and with not too bad of a time. 1 hour and 47 minutes not to bad for not training AT ALL! Bill was a little surprised that I agreed to run with him. It is only 10 miles right!!!
We had a nice lunch and headed home to our kiddos! It was a fun day!

The start line....
The Finish line...we weren't super impressed by the organization and found out later that some people that finished after us never even got a finishers medal. I would have been a unhappy camper!
