First Day of Kindergarten

I really can NOT believe that it is time for Addison to go to Kindergarten!  She was so excited!  I am surprised she slept at all.  Here is our Kindergartner!  We went shopping for the dress over the weekend when she requested that we go shopping as a family!  

Addison's basket of goodies that she woke up to!  Bill and I made a set of bracelets Addi wore one and I wore one....it was fun!!  There was a fun book for her to read, a Mom and me journal, new tooth brush, body wash, a fun sticker book.... I had a lot of fun putting it together! 

I couldn't resist the urge to decorate...at least a little!

 Landon REALLY missed Addison today.  We were running some errands and doing a few things and every time we finished something he would ask "We go get Addi now?" "We pick Addi up at school?"

 Linda is our AMAZING next door neighbor.  She has a daughter about my age I think....anyway she came to the bus stop today to hand out pencils to all the kids!  HOW SWEET!  She really does love Addi and Landon...and they adore her!

 This is the part where my heart started to race and my tears started to well up! It was really going to happen! 

 Every time Addison was asked what she was most excited about it was the bus ride!  So for her this is super exciting!

 My heart has now dropped to my feet and I am breathing a little faster! We brought a gift for the bus driver....I am thinking if you tell them they are appreciated then maybe they will watch out for my baby!  The bus driver is super sweet....It is the same one as last year and she is super careful about making sure the kids are safe...especially the kindergartners!!!

 Yeah, so I couldn't let the bus leave and I not follow up!  I went to school to make sure everything was okay!  It was fine.  Ryan made sure Addison got to class and when I saw her she was hanging up her stuff!  We gave her teachers their gift, I got another hug, took another picture and we were off! I did okay at school! The PTA sponsored a "Boohoo breakfast" for the new parents...so I went to that and met a couple of mom's that had just moved her from......OMAHA! What are the chances?  They were both military mom's but still!  Then we were off to breakfast with Bertha....thanks for the great company!!!

 Here is where my heart started to race with happiness! 

 My baby girl is back!!!  I made a plate of chocolate chip cookies to have for all the kiddos when they got off the bus!  It was fun!

After school Landon and Brian were playing...once Landon saw Brian had his orange goggles on it wasn't long before Landon came out in his!  They are such cute little friends!

Popsicles on the Porch

Aug 29th-  This is the event where we were able to find out who Addi's teacher was and meet her.  We got to the school and they had popsicles for everyone and then after waiting for a long time in the heat we went inside and were able to meet Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Sheftic Addison's teacher and assistant for the year!  It was fun but Addi was awful hot and tired out by the time we got inside so she wasn't really herself! That and she had been to a play date that morning!!

 It was great that Daddy got to come with us too!!!  Landon stayed with the Sheehan clan so Addi got undivided attention....which she loved!

Landon & Daddy time

So on Monday Bill and Landon decided to go on a little adventure.  They decided to take a little fishing excursion.  Sunday they got everything ready which included a trip to Target to get Daddy a "fish pole".  They got a soccer ball and socks too....for this fall when Landon starts playing!  Landon had to sleep with the ball!  He was kicking it around and both Bill and I were super impressed!  He has coordination that he surely did not get from his mommy!!

Before they left they practiced casting and reeling in by sitting on the curb and dug up worms in the back yard to fish with...it was so fun to watch. After Bill ran 15 miles he came home and they went to Burke Lake.  Landon was SO excited just to be going in Bill's car and couldn't stop smiling!

Meanwhile Addison and I had some Mommy-Daugher time and went for a manicure!  We had fun too!  I think Addi was a little disappointed because she had never been fishing and wanted to try it! But Daddy reassured her there would be another trip!

I was excited to get back and hear about the fishing trip.  Apparently, the entire way to the lake Landon sang the "you got a friend in me" song from Toy Story.  We have it on a cd that we listen to in the car and it is his favorite.  Bill said that he was so excited the entire time.  Then they caught a fish....he was so excited and was just squealing!  Once they caught two little fish Bill thought they could go.  Nope, Landon wanted to catch on on HIS fish pole.  So, they did and then he was super excited!  Here, the pictures tell it all....you can just about hear them!  They brought home the fish and it was fun to see them even if they were "napping".  Landon was SO proud and can not stop talking about it!!! What a special memory for Bill and Landon!!

Last bit of summer Fun!!

Addi and Sarah took an afternoon to put make up on and do their nails.  I think they had fun!  However, the next day when we went somewhere Addi decided to put on some more makeup and I didn't notice.  We were out running errands and I look over and she is covered in blue eye shadow.  Even though it is kids stuff it sure doesn't come off easy!  I tried with little success! 

 Trying on outfits...this is what resulted as we were cleaning out Addison's closet figuring out what fit and what didn't.  This was declared the first day of school outfit.  Ummm I am glad she could be convinced otherwise!!!

 So messy fun!!  Shaving cream cupcakes with water bead sprinkles!  Note to self...next time outside is a GREAT choice!!!!

Football Fan

In case there was any doubt that Landon is a Vikings fan.....

He was running through the house with a flag....it was like he was practicing to be the mascot or something! 

 This was breakfast one day after he HAD to wear a Vikings shirt to bed because it matched the pants that Grandma made him!  No other shirt would due....it had to say Vikings! 

My Birthday!

Aug 20- I am doing some catch up for sure!  I had a wonderful birthday. The weekend before Bill took me out to a fun dinner in downtown D.C.!  It was at a place called CoCo Sala it was really neat.  Everything had chocolate in it.  It sounds strange but it really worked! With the main food the chocolate would come in the form of a sauce or a drizzle but it was still really good and it complimented it well.

This was my cocoijoto...it was made with chocolate rum....it was good!

 These were the best cupcakes I have EVER eaten.....you could even eat the little thing that says coco sala!!!  I would go back and order just these they were THAT good!

 These were warm churros that had a yummy chocolate dipping sauce!  These were quite good too! We also had an asparagus risotto with chocolate drizzle and Bill had little burgers with a dipping sauce that had chocolate...everything was really good!

This was all before my birthday then for my birthday

I felt very loved on the actual day too as I had packages from two of my BFF's to open...thanks Gretch and Casie for making be feel loved on my birthday!  And I got lots of messages and cards too!  

 Bill made me dinner, brought me flowers and chocolates, and gave me the gift of my Sister....she is flying out in mid September for a visit.  What a great gift huh!  Oh and if that wasn't enough....he also gave me a nailing gun!  I was super excited trying to think of all the things I could nail together!!!  

Here is the yummy cupcakes that Bill and the kiddos made me!  They were tasty and decorated beautifully!!  The next day Sidney got into the leftovers...he ate one for sure!  Grrrr I couldn't find the hydrogen peroxide so he got off the hook!

 Flower bush....They were beautiful and made the house smell wonderful...so good that I hallucinated that it was clean!  

 GOOD chocolates and a nailing gun too....Bill spoils me way too much!
