One UNORGANIZED Mommy!

We recently took family pictures! Casie's Dad did an awesome job and they are going to be our Christmas cards....well I have been a bit off my game lately as I have been fighting a nasty cold. So, they are great but they have yet to be ordered! So, you will all be getting a Happy New Years greeting from the Nesbitt's. I am sure this is no surprise to most of you. As some will recall there were a few years where there was a Happy Valentines Day message from the Nesbitt family! I don't know why I can't seem to get everything in order and get Christmas cards in the mail. It isn't like the date changes every year? Oh well. I hope you will all find it in your heart to still love me anyway!

In the mean time...today Bill didn't have to go into work so we were going to take the kiddos to see Santa. Well, I picked the day that he wasn't at Shadow Lake. OF COURSE! On friday we had Bill's office Christmas party. There was a "santa" one of the guys Bill works with dressed in a santa coat and handed out presents to the kids. I guess he said he was one of santa's helpers. On the way home Addison and I were talking about the party and I asked her what she thought of Santa. "Mom, that wasn't Santa, that was just some guy." I just started laughing. We may have less time than we think to play the santa game!

All that being said...here are some photos we took of the kids once we got home. Nothing great cause I was being lazy and not setting up the full studio but they are cute anyway!

I think this picture of Landon is so funny!

On the MOVE!

Landon has been a busy boy lately! There have been lots of new things in his little world. For starters he has been eating solid foods. At his 4 month appointment the Dr said that we could start introducing them. The cereal...well he didn't like it much and really I can't blame him. It is stinky and if it tastes anything like it smells....yuck! But he does love his veggies....as long as they are orange. He DOES NOT like peas. Daddy usually feeds him at night before bed so if we are lucky he will have a full tummy and sleep through the whole night. I don't think that Landon and I talked enough while he was in my tummy about the importance of NOT BEING A MESSY BIRD! I will let the picture say the rest.....

Landon is also on the move! He loves to roll around in circles on the floor. He loves to watch Addison and lately she has been in ballet mode. Every chance she gets she is in a leotard, tights and ballet shoes.

Cute Kiddos!

I thought Landon looked like a lumber jack today so I had to take a picture. Landon loves to smile for the camera. Very unlike his sister. Addi will smile a little more for the camera now but only cause she wants to see herself.

Funny Addi story....

So Addi what do you want to get Daddy for Christmas?

Ummmm...a glass rooster....like the ones he hunts.

I just started laughing...just what Bill wants is a glass pheasant. She is so funny!

Making Ornaments

Addi, Landon and I made salt dough ornaments one afternoon. It was lots of fun. We made both Addison and Landon's hand print. It is so fun to look back and see how much they have grown year to year. And I am sure one day, if they are anything as sentimental as their parents, they will love them.

Baking with Nana

While Nana and Papa were here Addi helped Nana make Krumkake (aka Crumb Cake). Addison really really liked being the taste tester. She thought all of them should have been messed up ones so she could eat them.

First Preschool Program

Addison had her first preschool Christmas program. She has been excited about it for awhile. She knew that Nana and Papa were going to be there. Every time I asked her to sing me a song she would tell me, "Mommy I will sing it at my program". Well, that wasn't exactly true. The program was held in her classroom and when we walked in the kids were already in the front ready to sing. They all looked so super cute! The boys in Santa hats and the girls with reindeer antlers! As soon as they started I could tell Addi wasn't too into it. In fact, Addison didn't move the entire time. She pretty much just froze. A few times it looked as though she was close to tears. There were no tears but she was glad when it was done. I felt bad that it didn't go better for her. I did get a mini concert at home that I luckily caught on video. I think I would have been the same way!

Before it started....

After it started...

Landon was looking "dapper" (Addison's word)

Tis the Season

Wow this time of year is busy...but it is a fun busy. There is so much going on and it is all fun stuff. This morning I was able to help with Addison's class. They were making Gingerbread houses and the teacher needed some volunteers. It was so fun to see how the class works. Addison made the cutest Gingerbread house.... I can't believe the teacher did this with every student and gets to do it again tomorrow. It takes a very special person to be a preschool teacher.

After school we were invited to Mitch's house for a cookie decorating party, lunch and cookie exchange. It was so much fun. Renee is a very brave woman to allow 4-three year olds with sprinkles and frosting to have at it in her kitchen. She is going to be finding sprinkles in July! Addison had a wonderful time decorating....

The Finished Product...I thought it was so funny the almost all of them had a little Addi nibble out of them. I guess you have to know if they taste okay! Good thing I don't mind...in fact I think it might make them taste even better!! It is proof they are made with a lot of love!!

Addison and Landon were dressed so cute that I couldn't resist a photo once we got home....

Daddy and Landon being goofy. Landon can be such a funny little boy. Tonight when Bill was playing with him he sat up for quite awhile by himself. Yeah Landon!!! He has been sleeping through the night (two nights in a row)! Mommy is a happy camper!!

Busy Sunday!

Today Addison and Daddy had a "date". They went to Nutcracker Delights. I guess it was a dance school who puts on a performance of the Nutcracker for their recital. Bill said it was cute. Addison talked Daddy into lunch before the afternoon show too. She had to wear a pretty dress that she picked out and was so "sic-cited".

Outside the theater...

INSPIRED

Addison was very inspired by the ballet dancers and when she took off her dress she put this on....

After dinner we decided that we would decorate the tree all together. It was fun to pull out all the ornaments and remember the story behind them. Landon hung up his first ornament. He didn't seem to care and kept dropping it.

Addi was very excited to put the Angel on the top of the tree. It was a great weekend...busy but fun.

Christmas Lights

There are some people in Omaha who take Christmas decorating SERIOUSLY! On Saturday night we went and looked at Christmas lights. It was lots of fun. Here is a place who has their Christmas lights synchronized to music. So you turn to a radio station and they have a Christmas greeting and then the lights and music start. I was so amazed. I don't even know how one would do that! It was a fun night together! Addi thought it was pretty great. She really liked purple lights...imagine that!

Guy Smiley

Landon is so smiley!

Landon is 4 months old!!

Our little man is 4 months old today! We had his 4 month check up and he had to get some shots too. Poor little guy but he did really well.
His stats...
16 lbs (75th percentile)
25 3/4 inches (81st percentile)

Landon is a happy little boy....if someone is paying attention to him. All you have to do is look at him and he smiles. But this little man refuses to sleep through the night. We have tried EVERYTHING. He just thinks that at 3:30 he should get up. This mommy thinks differently. We are going to try cereal and see if that might work. At 16lbs he surely isn't starving. The doctor said that everything looks good. I am so glad that Landon is doing well. For awhile there I didn't feel like we were doing anything right.

Here is Landon at 4 months
(side note: Addison wore this same sweater when she was 15 months old) We have one BIG boy on our hands!!

So VERY Thankful

We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving. It was the first time ever that we were able to host Thanksgiving for our family. We LOVE hosting thanksgiving but this was the first time that we had family close enough. We had a wonderful weekend. My family made it here safe despite some yucky weather in Minnesota. Thursday we had a wonderful meal thanks to Bill. He is an expert at cooking a yummy turkey. This year we got a fresh turkey from a little all year farmers market here in Omaha, Tomato Tomato. We had to sign up for the size we wanted. We thought maybe around a 15-18 lb bird. I went to pick it up and the lady from the farm said that the smallest bird that she could give us was 27 lbs. Yup a turkey almost as heavy as Addison. It was giant but very yummy.

We spent the day just eating and being together. Then later it was on to planning our shopping route. Yes I was a black friday shopper. It was amazing though...people were nice and everything was super organized. I was impressed! While the girls shopped the boys were working hard putting in a new window and new insulation in our house. Thanks guys!

Mommy's little Giggle Box!

Landon is SO ticklish and normally it is hard to catch on video. Daddy was able to catch it tonight when we were getting ready for bed! I hope it makes you laugh as much as it does me!!

Cute Kids!!

Addison and Landon were looking pretty cute on Tuesday so I snapped some pictures! Landon is so expressive. Addison is showing me her bear face. At school she was learning about animals, specifically bears, hibernating. We had conferences this week for Addison. She is doing well. It seems like she is where she should be for her age. Mrs. Ziemba gave us some ideas of things we can work on at home which is good. I am very impressed with the school. I thought it would be a funny story or two and that would be it...but it was this entire list of things that each child is evaluated on. I wasn't expecting that but was pleasantly surprised.

New Landon Pictures!!

We finally got around to taking some new pictures of Landon. It is so different how things are with the second child. I think I took pictures of Addison nearly everyday. Granted the circumstances were a bit different but still. Here are some pictures of our handsome little man! He is so much fun. He loves nothing more than to be talked to and he is SUPER ticklish. His shoulders and back if you even touch them while changing him you get a great big Landon smile.

Veterans Day Weekend

We were so lucky to have some very good friends visit us this weekend from SanDiego. Harriet, Kevin, Paige and Rebekah flew in on Thursday night after waiting in the Salt Lake airport for 5 hours since they missed their connections. We had such a fun time. On friday we had a little dress up party. I set up the living room with all Addi's dress up stuff and let the girls have at it. Sophie came over to play too. We also had a little tea party and let the girls decorate some cookies. Well, I don't how much decorating got done but there was NO frosting left. It was super fun!!

Harriet and I were able to do a little shopping, a little crafting and a lot of catching up. It was so great to see all of them and finally meet their beautiful little girls.

Bill was even able to take some family photos for them...they turned out great!

Catching Up....

Lots and lots to catch up on.

We spent some time in MN while Bill had a LONG week at work. Unfortunately my Grandma ended up in the hospital. The good thing is that we were there. She is doing well and is at home. She has congenital heart failure and we found out that only 25% of her heart is working. We hope and pray that with some diet changes things won't get worse.

So our trip to and from MN went fairly well....I stopped outside of Sioux City for gas, turned around and this is what I found....
I brought formula with just in case and Addison found it and thought it was quite interesting! There was no where to clean it up so she had to sit in formula the rest of the way. Somehow she got her hands wet and it was stuck like glue to her face and hands. You can about imagine how thrilled I was. But of course I HAD to take a picture!

Nana sewed Landon his first hunting outfit....he looks so cute! With the way that Landon loves being outside it seems like hunting is one of those things he is going to enjoy. I guess we will see in 30 years when it will finally be okay for him to carry a gun.

So while we were at Nana's we had a little birthday celebration for Addi since Nana and Papa didn't get a chance to celebrate with her. Auntie Steph gave Addi a Taylor Swift doll. Addi was very excited that she had curly hair like her. Here she is watching a performance of Taylor Swift....
