Happy Valentine's Day!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day. We had a fun weekend including a trip to the Omaha Zoo. It was so fun! I am not sure who had more fun Bill and I or Addison. Addison was most interested in the Tiger because it made lots of noise. She also like the gorillas..one of them even gave her a kiss on the glass! It is a great zoo and we can't wait for visitors to share it with! I hope you enjoy the picture of my sweethearts and those of Addison as well.

Commander Nesbitt

It is Official! Bill was sworn in as Lt Commander on Friday! It was a beautiful day here in Omaha and we were able to perform the ceremony infront of the U.S. Navy Missle on base. Bill's new boss, was there to perform the ceremony. She is great! We were able to have lunch with her before the ceremony and find out lots of new things about the area. It sounds like this is going to be a great place to work for Bill too.

Addison and I are very proud of Bill and know he will do great things for his command here in Omaha!

Our NEW Home!!

We are all moved...we aren't unpacked but we have spent the last two nights in our beautiful new home. With much thanks to my Mom and Dad we were able to make serious dents in the boxes. It looks somewhat like a normal house but we have a long ways to go. Everything went perfect. We closed on Thursday and the movers came first thing friday morning. The fridge got delivered, the cable/phone got installed and everything went perfect. Our storage shipment is getting delivered today and our express (not so express) is getting delivered on the 10th. We are very very excited about our new life here in Omaha. So far we are loving the community and everything around us. There is however a little culture shock. At night when we are ready to go to bed it is still surprising to be able to see out the windows. You have to think twice because there are no shutters nor is there a need for steel shutters. We hope all is well for all of you. We look forward to hosting all if you here in our wonderful new place. Now....back to unpacking!!

Super Slacker!!

HELLO from the Tundra! Seriously today the temp at around 10am was -14...that is WITHOUT the wind! I do wonder why people live here!
I am sorry for being a super slacker! We have been busy but that is no excuse! We had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends. Bill was in Italy for New Years and me in MN. After New Years we made the trek to Omaha once again to house hunt. We went down with the thought that we aren't coming back until we have a house. Three days later we were signing the contract on a great house! I am SO excited. It is a beautiful house with lots of room for guests!!! The only draw back that Bill and I could find is the in-ground pool. We are going to give it one season and if we don't like it look at other options. We may find that the summers are very hot and we like it. Who knows. So now we are in MN waiting for closing. It is scheduled for the 30th but we are hoping for sooner.
I hope that you enjoy the photos. It was the best way to update you on our ADORABLE little Addison. She is doing so many new things and saying new words like crazy. Her new favorites are: Pa-pa, apple and baby. She is such a little copy cat watching everything and trying to do the same thing.

We Made It!!

Addison, Sidney and I made it safely to Chicago where we were met by my Mom and Dad. We were a bit delayed (5 HOURS) coming out of Rome. But it is to be expected since we flew Alitalia. I am so happy that I never again need to fly that airline. They weren't striking or anything...just being slow so all the schedules were messed up. It was a very long and painful process getting on the plane...but after that all went well.

Addison proved again to be a great little traveler. Since she has appointed herself to be the greeting committee she makes a lot of friends. Sidney, although a bit stressed is very happy. He spent the day sleeping and is now back to his old self. We all have a bit of jet lag and are still adjusting (the reason this post is coming at 5 am) but we are so happy to be in MN. We can't wait for Bill to get here!

One thing I did forget...how cold it is!! That is certainly a shock to the system. But if it means I am HOME I will figure it out. That is what heated car seats and electric start are for right??

On the Move Again.....

Hello everyone! It just doesn't slow down for us. We had a great vist to Greece with my Mom and Aunt and now we are packing out. The movers hit the ground running this morning around 8:30 (very early for Italian time). They were a great bunch of guys who of course loved Addison. That is one thing I will miss so much about Italy...Italians LOVE kids!!! Most of our house is packed and some if it is moved to the crates. It is crazy that it is actually happening. Addison and I travel on Friday! We fly from Rome to make it easier for Sidney. Traveling with a dog is such a huge pain!! We spent the better part of yesterday getting Sidney...the dog....a passport. I am not so sure that our house, after Sidney, will contain a four legged creature!

We are excited about what lies ahead but of course are sad to leave our friends that we have become so close to here. Home for the Holidays is having a very different meaning this year! We will actually be able to celebrate Christmas...on Christmas Day!!!

This will probalby be my last blog until I am once again back on American soil....I am so excited. So we ask that all of your thoughts and prayers come our way as we begin our adventure to our new place. An 11 hour flight with a 1 year old will certainly be a challenge but Addison is a great little traveler so I am hoping for the best!

Tre Amici

We finally found a time to arrange a photo shoot for the Tre Amici! The kiddos are in real pasta. Addison didn't like the way it felt on her feet but she was okay sitting in it eventually. It is one of our many fun memories of Italy. It is great to have a family in Italy as well as back home!! It is crazy that Addison, Sidney and I will be in the country for only 10 more days! We are all very excited about our new adventures in Omaha!
