SUPERHEROS

So, I made Brian and Landon matching capes because they have been playing super heroes!  It is SO funny to listen to them!  They are ninjas, then super heroes it is just fun.  Thanks to my new Cricut Explore that Bill gave me for mother's day I was able to cut the iron on film that I put on the back.  I was happy with the way they turned out.  And I actually used my sewing machine to sew fabric!

Mt. Vernon

We went with the Girl Scouts to Mt. Vernon.  It was a fun family trip.  It really is a beautiful place!  It was a nice day and I think we all enjoyed ourselves!  It was getting hot though by the end.  There was a fun museum to go through with a special kids center where they could touch things, read books, build a log cabin and even try to put together some artifacts!

Memorial Day

May 26- We have been having fun getting into the swing of summer even though there are weeks left of school.  It is crazy that we don't get out of school here until June 25!  INSANE!  Some of it was due to snow days but the normal school year went until the 20th.  It is so late!

We are sad that our neighbors, The Callaghan's are leaving.  They are moving to Texas.  So we are trying to get as much time hanging out as we can!  Brian and Landon have been playing so much!  Landon didn't even care about school at the end...he would barely get out of the door at preschool and ask if he could play with Brian.  They are so sweet and play so well together!

 A little friendly competition!  There was a little Farndon Court cook off this weekend!  Matt and Bill both smoked some ribs and it was a competition with the Callagan's as the judges.....I am not sure a winner was determined!  They were both delish.

Last Day of Preschool for Landon

May 22- Today Landon had his last day of preschool!  We were lucky enough to have Auntie Pat visiting so she got to go to the last day picnic!  We had lots of fun with Auntie Pat! We did a little sight seeing in D.C., ate yummy cupcakes, and had lots of fun!  Poor Auntie Pat got woken up super early by two little Nesbitt alarm clocks!

Frying Pan Park- Landon's Preschool Field Trip

May 13- Today I was lucky enough to be a part of Landon's field trip to Frying Pan Park.  It was fun but HOT!  There were animals to look at and a hay ride!  Everyone had a parent there except Amy who came with us!  It was fun and she was a sweet little girl!  All the kids had these little yellow scarfs to wear...it was the cutest thing ever!  I was sad Landon had a hello shirt on cause you couldn't see it very well!  They looked like they were from a commercial or something!  SO CUTE!

Mother's Day!

My day started out fantastic! I had two adorable kiddos and one amazing husband all right next to me!  Addison made me all kinds of cute gifts in school which she kept a complete secret! AND breakfast in bed! I don't think she is related to me and Bill!  We can NEVER wait to give gifts!!!  Landon had given me some adorable gifts on Thursday at school.  And flowers that he told me about before he gave them to me!   I hope they give me hand made gifts forever!  They are truly the best!  I have AMAZING kids!   We spent the morning at Great Falls National Park hiking and looking at cool waterfalls.  Then we came home and I played with my gift.....a new cricut explore!!  woohoo!  Happy cutting! Bill smoked some meat for a tasty dinner and because I was hanging out with my family, my world was perfect!  I am a happy and blessed Mommy!

 Great Falls National Park!  It was awesome! But we left before it was over crowded...we are still midwesterners who don't like to be smushed by people!! But we met some other MN people there...that is always fun!

Busy Tuesday!

April 29th- We had a busy Tuesday.  We were able to get tickets to tour the White House this morning!  It is something that my Dad had expressed interest in....and since that happens rarely we thought we should try and take a tour!  We had to go through the MN Congressman and it was kind of a process....so anyone visiting if you want to go to the White House plan in advance!

The White House was neat!  The kids had a good time and were well behaved.  It was interesting to find out that that entire place operates with a staff of 95 people!  I didn't think that seemed like that many considering what they have to do!

We left and it was raining....really hard!  So we were all soaked despite rain coats and umbrellas.  So we ran home to change and head back into Union Station to meet Bill's Mom and Dad!  They were coming through D.C. on their way to Jonathan's Wedding.  Landon had never met his Grandma and Grandpa so it was sure to be interesting!  It was actually the first time that my parents and Bill's parents met too!  It was nice to have them finally meet!  Everything went well.  Landon followed Addison's lead and had lots to chat about and many hugs to give!  I really am thankful that my kids are sweet and very outgoing.
