Last Day of Basketball

Feb 28 2014-
Today was Landon's last basketball game.  I think he really enjoyed it.  He was always happy to hear it was a basketball day..practice or game it didn't matter.  He surely got better as time went on so that is a good sign!
Landon...lucky 13!!

Landon had defense down much better than offense.  But today he actually tried to shoot the ball!  He missed but I was happy he tried!  Way to go Landon!

Here is our handsome basketball player!

National Building Museum

We went to the National Building Museum and the Natural History museum.  We had lots of fun!  Landon loved building with the big blocks.  We got run out of there by a field trip of big kids...teenagers as Landon said!

Landon had a whole system of shooters and catchers!!! He has quite an imagination!!

Valentine's Day 2015

I love taking Valentine's Day pictures of my kiddos!  We had planned and taken them on a snow day.

So, Addi and Landon had awesome personalized Valentine's to deliver!  It is so much fun!

Addison and her crazy cute heart shirt!  Looking oh so stylish!
Landon looking awful cute in his firefighter suit.  I was just glad we got a photo in it before it was too small!  One day we were talking about Papa (as we do a lot) and it came up that he was a firefighter.  Landon was a bit surprised by that.   I told Landon that Papa had retired.  He said "Why?  Did his suit get to small?"  I just laughed! This little boy has a smile to charm almost anyone...especially his mommy!
Landon worked so hard signing every one of his Valentine cards.  I was impressed.  I didn't tell him he needed to...he just sat there and drew a heart and wrote his name on every one...all 20 of them in one sitting.  I was thinking it would take awhile but he was super focused and did them all!  He has become a lot more interested in writing lately!  Whew!  This mommy is a bit relieved.

We had a great Valentine's weekend...Bill made us some yummy pizza on the Big Green Egg and we watched some movies...it was a great long weekend.  It even got extended by 2 snow days.  Bill and I were able to have a date on Sunday night.  We went into Georgetown and had the best italian food since we left Italy.  Il Canale is the place to go!  Yum!

Pinewood Derby

January 31 2015-

I guess Pinewood Derby isn't just for Boy Scouts anymore!  Addison was part of designing a car for her Girl Scout Troop.  Bill and Addi did a great job designing it.  Addison actually drew the side profile on the block of wood and Bill just cut it out.  She also picked the design for it. I was impressed with all the work she put into it.  I know that Papa was sad that he didn't get to help her!  It would have been A LOT easier if we would have had access to Papa's shop!  But as it was Addi had a great car to compete with at her Pinewood Derby.  Her car was smokin' fast.  But there were some other dads who have certainly done this before.  So she didn't win for speed. But I bet she came in about 5th or so.  However, she did win second place in design.  And it was totally Addison's design.  I  cut the flames out for her but it was all her!
Painting her car!
 Before the race!

Woohoo we have a winner!  2nd place in Design

 Silly girl!

Basketball

January 2015
After a great trip to MN and a little time at home to get some projects done and feel like everything is put away things are good.  Bill found a basketball program for Landon.  It started in late November but there was still space for Landon.  It is at Laurel Ridge so it is close.  Landon seemed interested so we thought we would try it.  Oh my gosh....the first time he showed up it was a game....I felt so bad for Landon.  He had NO IDEA what was going on.  But he adapted and did well.  After a few practices and a bunch of games he is doing much better.  I would guess he is the youngest on the team...not the smallest however.  He gets super excited when it is a basketball day!  He is really good at defense but still a bit clueless on offense.  It is Landon so he always has a smile to flash to those watching on the sidelines.
