Landon's First Day of School and Mine too!

So, today (September 5) Landon and I had our first day of school.  It was just the open house so that parents stayed the entire time and we only had half the class at a time.  It all went well.  Bill was there to go with Landon in his class.  It seemed like it was going to be a good class.

My class seems great!  I can't tell who the naughty kids are yet so that was a good sign to me!

Me and Landon on our first day of school!  Thanks to Auntie Pat for my first day of school outfit!  This has been a tradition for a LONG time!

He looks so old in this picture!

This is the board I did to welcome all the students! It was lots of fun!

First Day of 1st Grade!

September 2, 2014- Today was Addison's first day back at school.  I am not sure where the summer went.  I suppose we didn't get out of school until June 25th so it was 1/3 over already!   But we were somewhat ready to go back.  Still adjusting from MN but ready!

Our Adorable 1st Grader!  I could NOT convince her to wear a dress!  She wanted to be comfortable.  It was hotter today than it was all summer!  Figures!

Catching up at the bus stop!
Lining up!  We sure do miss our bus driver Ms. Alison!
 Ready to go!!

Teacher/Bus Driver Gifts!

AFTER SCHOOL!!!  We had treats last year so we had to do it again....its tradition now!  So, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies it was!  I was worried I wasn't going to have time since I got home from meetings at the preschool at 3!  But I got it done!
First day went well!  We have a happy girl!!

Addison says....."My favorite part was reading 'The Name Jar' book.  I played outside in recess and I asked Mrs. Prosser if we could play on the jungle gym.  It was fun climbing the jungle gym.  (I guess as a kindergartner you weren't allowed to climb it!)

More from MN!

We had a great time in MN!  I got to meet some important people for the first time!  I got to meet Little Kasia, Greg and Dag's beautiful little girl! And I also got to see Monson and meet his wife!  We also spent some time out at the Schueler Farm and got to see Great Grandma!

We had a busy but fun trip home.  It is NEVER long enough so there were all kinds of people that we didn't get to see too....Hopefully at Christmas!

Vacation Up North!

We were able to fly back to MN on my Birthday!!! It was a good place to be!  Back where it all began!  It is hard to believe that I am 36!  That is certainly on the round-up to 40!  A little scary!

It was a great birthday spent with lots of family!  It was great to see everyone!

On the 21st we headed up North to a lake near Brainerd.  We had rented a cabin for 4 days!  It was to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday that was in April!  It was great to have everyone in one place and have it be so relaxing and fun.

Even Maggie got to go!  Poor Sidney was stuck in VA!

Lucas was so excited whenever anyone caught a fish!  We could catch them off the dock without bait!  (or bake as Landon calls it!)

You know you are "Up North" when....you see Paul Bunyon!

Dad worked so hard for this fish!  The boys were pulling them off the dock and Dad was on the pontoon....they were harder to come by over there!  He FINALLY got one!

Minnesoooootaaaah..it is so beautiful and relaxing!

Auntie and Uncle Trent gave Addison an early birthday present....a trail ride on a horse!  She was SO super excited! Up to this point she has only gotten to ride a pony in a circle.  So this was a huge treat!
Thanks Auntie, Uncle T and Lucas....it came home on a paper from school as the favorite thing she did this summer!!!
