Nike Women's Half Marathon

April 27th- Well I took to the streets of D.C. this morning with 15,000 women with the same goal.....cross the finish line!  I completed the goal and it was pretty enjoyable.  It was an amazing morning in D.C.!  I couldn't have ordered better weather! It would have helped if I would have taken training a bit more seriously but I crossed the finish line!  I also got a cute necklace from Tiffany's!!!   I was SUPER thankful that my family was there to cheer me on!  My Mom and Dad, Bill and the kiddos found me at mile 7 and again to cross the finish line!  It is always so much fun to have fans!  So I wasn't fast (i never am!) but the run was good!

They had an expo...and had all the runners names on a wall.....woohoo!
Landon and I at the expo!
Grandma and Landon in Georgetown!  It was beautiful!
Race Day!  It was an amazing morning to run!  Bill knows me well and was able to snap a few pictures while I was running!  That is the time to see the monuments!

D.C. is a beautiful historic city...IF you can get past the traffic and stupid people!
 My heart belongs in MN!
FINISHED! It was and always is a great feeling to cross the finish line.  I had flashbacks of Greece in my head and running into the first Olympic Stadium....that was amazing!
One of my most important reasons for running!!!  Wow do I love those two!!
This is the first time my Dad has ever been on a race course!  My Mom saw me complete my marathon and also a half in Omaha!  Thanks to Bill for truckin all over the city to see me for a second!  I adore you and I am very happy you are such a fan!!

The numbers....not exactly what I wanted but when you don't train...that is what you get!

White House Easter Egg Roll

April 21, 2014
Last week Bill found out that he had won the lottery to get tickets to the annual Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn.  We were SUPER excited!  Our tickets were for the first of four time slots.  It was a  bit chilly but it was easier to find parking and everything and everyone was fresh!  Everything was organized very well!  We went through security, got a wrist band and then were headed to the lawn! They thought of everything.  They had an area for you to get a drink before you went in, they had sunscreen, bug spray, people with markers to write your phone number on your child's wrist band in case you got separated.  Like I said they thought of it all!  Once we got onto the lawn there were lots of activities to do.  There was the Easter Egg roll of course, characters, a story time with Jim Carrey, a stage with music, crafts, a fruit stand with free fruit, a science area where they learned about bees and seeds.  I was really amazed!

When we were waiting to go in they had bubble machines...Landon was so excited!  I couldn't get him still for the picture!
Addi and Bill on the White House Lawn!
All of us on the White House Lawn!!!
Landon was pretty excited to see Spiderman but wasn't sure about taking a picture with him.  We stood there for awhile and a few other kids went and then he wanted me to go with him...he really wasn't sure.  You wouldn't know that by looking at the picture....he thought he was tough! Spiderman was awesome!  So, this is certainly a picture with a story!
 EGG ROLLING!!!

Landon wasn't sure what to do and quickly flicked his egg into Addison's lane.  He just kept going!
We got SO close to the White House.  The only thing separating us from the front door was a driveway!  AMAZING! It was so beautiful!
This picture was taken for Lucas!  He calls Curious George...Monkey George!
This was a super fun photo prop!  They had one a little bigger but a super long line for it! I still think these pics are cute!
Silly Girl....Daddy was saying something to her!
Addi and Landon made kites and were able to fly them on the White House Lawn! They really did have some awesome volunteers!  As Bill would say...."they sprinkled some Disney on it!"

It was a WONDERFUL day and some great memories for our family!  Addi and Landon looked so cute and they were very well behaved! They even got a commemorative egg when then left!  It was a great event!  Thank You President Obama for the invite!!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter!  It was relaxing and fun....the weather is even nice!  We have a Great group of Easter bunnies here on Farndon Court!  We woke up to a yard FULL of Easter Eggs!  There were even big eggs for the Mommy and Daddy!  Thanks to the Fabia's for making it an extra special day!
Addi and Landon saying Happy Easter!
Addi finding eggs....she was all warmed up since we had an Easter Egg hunt at church too!
 Landon too!

They were really sweet to share....

Landon was excited after he found the first one and it was a BIG one!

Nike Womens Marathon...DC

Well, it is a week away!  I will take to the streets of DC along with oodles of other women to run 13.1!
Nike has this stuff FIGURED OUT! We were able to pick up my race packet at 3 different locations a week before the race!  I was totally amazed!  And in total Nike style it went perfect!  Thanks Nike for making this fun and easy..well the packet pick up anyway!
Pretty sure we have a runner in the making!  This girl is FAST!

Spring Break 2014

We had a fantastic Spring Break!  We left on Monday morning and headed south.  After a bit of traffic we were finally in the clear!  We headed to North Myrtle Beach for a few days!  Sadly it didn't feel to beachy but we still had a great time.  This was our first time using a vacation rental!  It was 200 steps to the beach.  It was fantastic!  Because it was pet friendly even Sidney got to travel along!

We had some cool experiences while we were there!  We went to an aquarium because the forcast predicted 100% chance of rain.  Then we went to have some BBQ and headed to the TIGERS preservation.  It was there that we got to have our photo taken with a 2 1/2 month old tiger and a gibbon!  It was so cool!

We also got to fly a kite on the beach, check out a state park and take in a pretty nifty pirate show!  Everyone had a great time!  Bill did a great job navigating through oodles of traffic on the way back!

First Sight of the Ocean!!!  They had SO much fun!  It was sprinkling so we were dressed in rain gear!

Addi located a million shells!  We came home with i bet 8lbs of shells!  They are all the most beautiful treasure EVER!
Landon was so wet!  He wasn't in a suit because it was chilly!  He did not care AT ALL!

Yaaaar Matey!

The pirate show was run by a Dolly Parton company.  It was really good!  We were expecting it to be ok...but we were really entertained as well!

 The Aquarium

The other requested activity was flying a kite on the beach!  It was so much fun!  It was surely windy enough.  It was fairly chilly the entire time we were there!  But the kids didn't notice!  They had a great time on the beach!

Landon found this hole and thought it was the greatest thing!
