Valentine's Day 2014

Happy Valentine's Day!  We are still celebrating here at the Nesbitt house because of all the snow the parties at school got moved all around!  We had fun though!  Addison got to go to her first sleep-over where she stays somewhere else!  She went to Hannah's house! It went pretty good but she didn't sleep a lot!  Bill, Landon and I went and bought some yummy treats and came home! Just how I wanted it....no crowds or craziness!

Here are some fun pictures of the kiddos that I took earlier in the week to share!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Seriously.....I am in trouble!  Today at Addi's school...Landon was smiling and winking at one of the other Mom's...NOT kidding!  TROUBLE...but Adorable too!
The tux was a lot of fun!
Bill thought Landon looked like he was in the Mafia!

Addison is one beautiful girl...both inside and out! We are SO lucky!!

Now THAT is some Snow!

Feb 13- People here in Virginia have been freaking out for days over this storm that is coming.  I just find it all a bit funny!  It is SNOW you aren't going to be trapped for 6 months in your house!  I promise!!  But they don't deal with it well!  This time we got some snow...even by MN standards!  It was probably about a foot or so and it was wet and heavy!  No school the rest of the week for sure! Even Bill didn't have work!

We are surrounded by some of the best people!  It was like a party out in the court!  Everyone was helping everyone dig out!  It really was a lot of fun!  Addi and Landon were running around playing and Bill and I along with all the neighbors shoveled.  We dug out cars, cleared the sidewalks and most of the street even! The street was because of the two snowblowers!  It was just a fun experience!  Then we went inside for chicken noodle soup..cause that is what happens on snow days!  Chicken Noodle Soup or Chinese take-out!

Landon with Rolland...best pals!
Matt drivin the snowblower...there was a bigger one down the street!!!

So it was a snow day but I thought it was one of the more enjoyable ones!!!

Do You Wanna Build A Snowman......

Addison has been OBSESSED with Frozen!  I can not tell you how many times we have heard the soundtrack!  I have seen the movie once and the sing-a-long too!  It really is a cute movie Disney did a good job!  As part of our long weekend fun we went to see it all together.  When we came home Addison decided to dress up as Elsa.  She found her fur vest and told Landon that he should wear it and  be Sven...the Reindeer! Becauese Addison asked...he gladly agreed! So here is Elsa and Sven!  (Addi had to have a little lesson on how to say Sven....gotta get those Norwegian lessons in there when we can!!)

Florida or Bust....it was a bust!

January 29-  So back when we were looking at flights home for Christmas we found some reasonable flights to Florida in January!  Sounded like a great idea...Addi had some days off of school...perfect!  Well, that was before the storm of the century hit the entire south.  It was about the same temperature there as it was in Virginia!  Not exactly the get away we were hoping for!  But we were gonna make the best of it!  We planned on picking Addison up early from school....well there was a delay.  As we were trying to figure out how to get to the airport I called and offered up our seats if we could just rebook for another time!  The flight the day before was cancelled so I thought it would be a full flight...nope!  It never happens when you want it to!  So we are still ready to go and about five minutes before Robyn got here to pick us up.....the flight was cancelled.  So, we had to switch gears again.  Addison hurried to get to the bus and go to school.  When I came home Bill had cancelled everything so we were set!  But we knew we would have a disappointed little girl....so we decided to drive west!  When in doubt....drive west!

We decided to go back to the water park that we had gone to in the fall.  We knew it would be something both Addi and Landon would love!  We found a hotel with a pool and all was well in the world! It was a good little get away and the pool was warmer than it would have been in Florida!  AND we tasted some of the best doughnuts ever!  Apple doughnuts at the Apple House!  YUM!

Who needs dolphins when you have Dad!
On our way home we stopped at the Luray Caverns!  It was amazing....and perfect because our tour group had 8 people in it!
The pictures really can not do it justice!  It was AMAZING!  Truly a wonder!
My favorite part was there was a lake in there....it looked like it was really deep but it was just the reflection tricking you!

Addison and Landon really seemed to enjoy it!  Addison chose a polished slice of rose quartz as her souvenir and she truly thinks it is a REAL diamond!  In her mind she was given the Hope diamond! It is perfect!  Landon picked out a stone frog! Why not? I love watching them learn and enjoy it!  Addison OF COURSE found a friend in our tour group.  She was a Grandma driving to South Carolina from Canada...she was very well entertained but very complimentary of Addison as well.  She thought she was a lot older than a kindergartner and told us that we have a very bright little girl!  I have to agree!

Holiday!

January 20-
Well, with the MLK Jr holiday we took the opportunity to do a little site seeing!  We have been meaning to go to the other half of the Air and Space Museum for quite some time now and we FINALLY made it!  This part of the Smithsonian is out by Dulles airport...so it has a lot more space and it is packed with planes!  The coolest part.....we got to see Discovery!  It was really neat!

The Discovery
Addi figuring out where we should go next!
The look out tower!  There is a tower just like the one at Dulles.  It was fun to watch the planes come in!  Addi and Landon were making up stories about where they were coming from and where they were going!  Most of them were either going to Florida or Minnesota! Imagine that!!
 My Favorites!
