Marine Corps Marathon...Saturday!

Today was Addi's race day!  She signed up for the Marine Corps kids fun run.  It was a mile long course at the Pentagon.  It was a lot of fun.  We took the metro in which was an event all by itself!  Addison did a great job running.  She was told that she was supposed to walk so none of the kids get run over...well she didn't know what she should start running so she spent some time walking until she saw that other kids were running.  Then it was game on!  She had fun and didn't seem to get tired.  Her long gazelle legs helped her out!  From Bill's timing she finished a mile in about 11:30.  Not bad for that being the her furtherest run and six!! We were certainly proud!

Then began our journey to the D.C. Armory for Bill's packet pick up!  What a mess!  We waited in line for 2.5 hours to get his packet.  The hold up....was bag check.  Had they communicated that bags would not be allowed thing would have gone much quicker!  It was horribly run with no communication.  Then you had to go into the expo to get your finishers shirt! Without that no one would have gone in there! So overall, Bill was on his feet way more than he wanted to be!  But we got home and he was able to relax!

So there was some problem with my memory card as some of the pictures would not download.  So, I will have to try and figure that out.  It is really strange!  And of course it is all the really fun ones like Bill pinning on Addi's bib and Bill holding up his bib at the expo!  So, hopefully someone smarter than me can get them back!
After the race!!

 The cutest spectator there is!!
The hair....that is what we looked for...and the tights!
 Running!
Super Excited to give Daddy a high-five!

Fall Get Away!

So we weren't able to use the long weekend to get away but we decided we needed a break!  Mostly, at least for Bill and I, we needed wide open spaces!  We are a little homesick!  It is funny the things you take for granted...we were missing golden fields, tractors, and spaces with few people and cars! Since we weren't able to telecommute to the midwest we just decided to drive in that general direction!  We found a place in the Shenandoah Valley.  We left after school on Friday and drove there...which took far longer than we anticipated with traffic and bad directions.  But we got there!  The kiddos were so  excited to just be staying in a hotel (its the little things!!)  Then Bill had found a great water park for us to go to on Saturday morning. It was so much fun.  I wasn't sure that Addison would go down the BIG slides...but there was one that she loved.  It totally surprised me.  Landon loved spraying water and going down the smaller slides.  After having some lunch we took a scenic drive and found a pumpkin patch, state park and some beautiful scenery on the way!  We even saw CORN!  Both Bill and I got excited the moment we saw it!  How sad are we?  It was exactly what all of us needed!!!
Water Park Fun!
Landon LOVED the boat rides...it was a lazy river and his favorite!!
Going down the BIG slide with Daddy!

The "frog mouth" as Landon called it!!

We even found a place for the kids to have a pony ride!
Daddy and Addi!
 It really was beautiful!

 These are some beautiful kids!
CORN!  This is the corn that Bill and I were SO excited to see!  Hmmm do we belong in the midwest?  YES WE DO!

 Kisses for his sister....always!

 Happy Fall colors!

We even found someone to take a family picture!!

Capes and Words

Capes have fun a new, very fun thing at our house lately!  Landon has discovered that he loves them!!

I guess them make you run faster!!!

Addison is loving school and it is amazing to see that she is writing more and more words, spelling, trying to sound out words....she is learning so much!  But she is still our sweet little girl. One night when we came up to bed this is what we found.... I think she was trying to draw a horseshoe!!!  But doing a great job writing words!

Raking Leaves...Round 1

Addison wasn't feeling so great today....Bill completed his 20 mile run in preparation for the Marine Corps Marathon...way to go Baby....I am SO proud of you!!  So we were all in rest mode today!  It has been raining for a few days straight so Landon and I were ready to get outside!  So, we raked up some leaves!  It was pretty fun.  I had other motives of course...I wanted a picture!  But it was fun watching the kiddos jump in the leaves too!!

Cute even with a dirty face!
There is that smile that gets me...every time!!

Addison's Horse Party

So, things have been a little crazy at the Nesbitt house so the blogging has been a little behind.  So the week of Addi's 6th birthday she had an awesome horse themed birthday party!  She invited some friends from the neighborhood and had a great time!  It was a lot harder than one would think  to find cowgirl stuff.  But I had fun making a bunch of it!  The girls did a painting project where we painted horses...I cut them out of the cricut and they painted over them...then removed them...it was pretty neat!!!  Then we found 'find the golden horse', had a little dinner, did a photo shoot and opened presents!!  Addison got spoiled by her friends getting all kinds of horse themed things! It was a lot of fun and I had one tired little six year old when it was over!!!

Here are some pictures that my friend so graciously took for me!!

Giddy-up cowgirls!!
