Happy Father's Day Bill!

Addison and Landon are very lucky to have the BEST Daddy in the world!  They love their Daddy so much!  And so do I!!  We have been talking about Father's Day for a long time.  Addison had all kinds of good ideas of what we should do!  We decided to do some fun projects!  We made a handprint tree for Daddy, of course we added some pages to his Daddy book...I asked the kids questions about Bill...they were so funny! We made some special trail mix for Bill to take to work and made his favorite breakfast and attempted ribs for dinner.  I tried to make Bill some ribs right after we were married and it was horrible! I decided after 10 years I would try and redeem myself.  Thanks to pinterest I found a fun recipe and they turned out all right.  Bill even said it was his new favorite!  WOOHOO!

Bill, thank you for loving your family so much!  You are so dedicated to us in every single way in all you do!  We are so glad to have you back with us every day....the way it should be!  WE LOVE YOU!!

Summer is in FULL Swing!

Summer is upon us!  However I don't think the weather here is normal for this time of year.  It has been mild and beautiful!  I guess it is normally sweltering by this time!  I am thinking Virginia is just trying to break me in slowly!  The humidity is crazy here!!

Here is a little of what we have been up to....

Addison got a new bike...she actually has two!  One to learn on and one to grow into!  Some of our awesome neighbors were getting rid of them!  Since we have never really had a place to ride...she has to learn!
Landon loves anything with wheels!  He can get going on his bike but still likes his trike better!  Sometimes he gets stuck on his bike.
Going for a bike ride! I Love these guys!

 MILLION DOLLAR ROPE

So this rope has an extensive story....somehow we ended up with it after Bill's ship days where he climbed containers.  It has since then been used to trim a tree, hold up a fence, insulate our house, and most recently provide much entertainment for our kiddos!  Bill was just testing some branches to see where the best place to put our new swings would be.  Well, they loved the rope and had a great time playing with Daddy!  Bill thinks it is the new wedding gift we should give....ahhhh I don't think so!

Playing with the neighbor, Sarah.  Break time!
Tag Tails....a fun game!

Daddy with his cute kiddos!  Bill bought two swings, this tire swing and a disk swing!  Along with the water table the best purchases EVER!  Thanks Bill for being so thoughtful!
The next best purchase....I found some old pasta and it was SUPER long so I couldn't just throw it away! Addi and Landon had a great time playing in it one morning.  The bonus was that I got some time to get stuff done!

Landon and his friend Brian, our neighbor, playing on the swing.  They are so fun to watch together.  One day they were "shooting monkey monsters in the tree."

A Little Love from HOME

May 23- Yeah!!  A little love from Omaha!  Today we met Renee and her kiddos at the Air and Space Museum.  Addison and Landon were thrilled that they got to ride on the Metro.  It was their first time!  Was certainly a highlight of the trip.  We got on the train and Landon was in his stroller sitting next to me.  He looked at me and said "We on a train mommy.....alllll aboard!"  I just started laughing!  Renee and kiddos were in town visiting for a little while on their way to a beach house for the week!  It was SO great to have a big hug and some love from home!  The kids loved the Air and Space Museum and having only been there once before and not spent a lot of time it was fun to go back.  So, we stopped for snacks and Renee and I got beat out by a McDonalds.  I never knew they could be so complicated!  We finally got what we needed in the end....COFFEE!!

Then we went near their hotel...and since it was close to the White House we had to stop to see it.  So much fun!

Riding the Metro for the first time!
SOMEHOW Landon fell asleep...with all the stopping and people getting on and off I was shocked but he slept pretty good!
 Cute kiddos!

I LOVE and MISS my FRIEND!!!!
I have created a monster....we are leaving the park and Addison stops, sits on this tree stump and tells me that I should take a picture of her! Oh Boy!!!

Memorial Day

May 26-27 We had a good Memorial Day weekend.  It is so nice to have three days!  Sunday afternoon  Bill was able to get most of the cardboard out of our house!  WOOHOO!  I guess the neighbor across the street's sister in law was moving so they came to get the boxes. The guy asked Bill what he wanted for the boxes and he said "for you to take the paper too"!  It worked!  Yeah! We can see our garage floor now!  Then on Sunday afternoon we had an awesome picnic.  One of the families in the court hosted a neighborhood picnic to welcome us and the Sheehan family and to say good-bye to another family leaving in June.  It was SO much fun.  Addison and Landon met all kinds of new friends and Addi had a great time helping everyone with something.  Our immediate neighbors told us that the neighborhood is a little brighter once Addi and Landon arrived.  I think that is a compliment?  We have some amazing neighbors though.  People working in all different areas and SO smart but so very nice!

Our Memorial Day continued on Monday morning when we went to a park by our house to have our own little memorial ceremony for my Grandpa.  Bill,Addison and Landon weren't in MN with me so we decided to send some balloons to Great Grandpa in Heaven.  Addison and Landon really enjoyed that.  They were sure to kiss the balloons so that Great Grandpa got kisses too!  It was sad but it was nice to see that my kiddos had compassion for the situation and were very thoughtful.

 Kisses
 More Kisses
We watched the balloons for a really long time!

We did a little swinging at the park too before we headed to another BBQ with some old friends from Naples...Z and Leslie!  They have recruited Bill for their new group "The Pitches"!  It is an acappella group.

National Zoo

May 20- Our friends down the street invited us to go to the zoo with them.  The National Zoo!  We headed into the city this morning.  Got stopped by only one motorcade (that was a new experience for me).  I guess it was the President of Myanmar..yeah I didn't know where that was I guess it used to be Burma.  The Zoo was a bit crowded because of all the school trips.  But we had fun.  We got to see the "National Panda" as Addison says.  It was a fun, hot day!  The zoo is really great but it sure is crowded!  Nothing like the good ol Omaha Zoo!  Thanks Sheehan's for inviting us!!

A peak at the very hungry National Panda!
What a crew....my camera lens was all foggy because it was that humid!  Oh Boy it is gonna be a LONG summer!
Two cuties that I didn't even want to leave at the zoo!!
Standing like flamingos creating their own exhibit!

A LOT Home Sick

May 17-  I think that Addison and I are in the same place.  I went to check on her one night before I went to bed and this is what I found..... It looks like she fell asleep while she was coloring.....

Here is what was on her paper.....Addi and Sophia?  I think so! We sure do miss our Besties!!!

Terrible Twos........YUP!

I am a bit behind as I am STILL trying to get things in the house settled.  Did I mention I really HATE moving?  I am more than thrilled that this is the last time.  So, Landon who was supposed to be napping one day found Addison's nail polish and decided to use it.  He tried his toes but then moved onto his eyes!  YIKES!  Luckily it was not in but just around his eyes.  Well, nail polish remover being one of those things the movers won't pack...our house had none.  So it wasn't until I could go to the store and get some that we attempted to get it off.  That wasn't fun.  But we got it off.  This is where all I can do is shake my head and move the nail polish!!

 Nail Polish and Yogurt!

Almost got it on the toe nail!
