Practice Round

Casie was so sweet and invited us to Boys Town to go trick-or-treating with them. Jess, Rob and Bo came with us!!   I guess they were doing it a night early!  It was awesome...not too many people and there was enough room and very few cars!!  It was great!  There were only a couple scary places...but once they figured out that they were little kids they stopped the scary business! The kids had so much fun!  Addi loved spending time with Sophia.  They miss each other so much!

 What a group!!
Bo and Landon heading up to get some treats!
 A cute little spider....
So I didn't really measure when I made Landon's cape...oops...Rob acting as Landon's assistant!  Every superhero has a personal attendant right?
 One cute group of Trick-or-Treaters!!!
(the spider was done!)
 Addi, Bo and Landon...

I loved the way Landon was looking at Addi!!

Pony Rides...

One day we went to the Oceana stables to see if we could look at the horses.  Having been to this base before I knew they had some.  Well, we were lucky enough to get to meet one of the horses, pet her and even give her some treats.  Addi loved it.  She has been in that asking for a pony stage.  I just don't understand!  But all week Addison kept asking if it was Saturday so she could ride a pony.

Saturday came and we HAD to go and ride a pony.  Even Landon was excited.  "Nandon helmet" is he kept saying.  So after a long wait we were finally given a pony.  I have to say I was a little freaked out. I am not real good with animals!  I couldn't get the old horse to go so Bill had to take over. Addi's horse was a little more cooperative.

At one point I guess old Treasure wasn't going fast enough and Landon said "Giddyup Treasure"
(he had a hard time saying treasure...Bill just laughed)
 Addi and Hornet

Bike Ride on the Boardwalk

One night we went for a bike ride on the boardwalk downtown.  Addi and Landon had so much fun.  The got to relax while Bill and I had to do the real work.  So there are two steering wheels but one is just for decoration....mine...well I was run into the bushes on several occasions and still tried to steer out of them!

King Triton as Addi called him
A big sea shell on the beach!
 Landon doing some investigating!

Virginia Beach Aquarium

Wednesday while Bill was at school we went to the aquarium.  It was okay.  I guess I am comparing it to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which is one of the best in the entire world.  Addi and Landon had a great time.  We got to see other animals that were native to the wetlands around there.  The highlight was surely getting to touch the stingrays!

 The Sharks
Doing a little deep sea diving...they had this set up like you were in a submarine and I asked Landon where we were going and he said "Gama's house".
We actually saw a pod of dolphins in the ocean which was cool.  They don't have any here...just a fake one!
We are really spoiled to live in Omaha because I think our zoo and aquarium was just as good as this one! I am surely an Omaha lover!!
The coolest thing ever...touching the sting rays! They would get close and Landon would just squeal!
Addison with her newest pet seal "Celia" she thought it was okay if there were two Celia's!
We met Bill for lunch and had a picnic by this lake right on the base.  It was so peaceful and the kids had a blast running around finding "nature things" as Addi called them.
Aquarium part two...after we dropped Bill off at work we went back to see the other building.  There was a sea otter and that was about it.  But the kids did get to feed the birds.

This bird had a gotten frostbite and only had one foot that was good.  The guy was feeding him by hand.  Addison of course did the same thing.  He was feeding him some kind of worms..alive of course...yuck!
Then came the live crickets...and Landon had to help.
What really did me in were the frozen mice...they just threw the stuff out for the birds...I was completely disgusted!  Bill and I weren't sure whose kids these were?  We surely wouldn't have touched ANY of that!

Seeing Daddy

When we flew into the VA Beach airport we were surely excited!  But once we finally saw Bill I think we were all just elated! Addison went running meanwhile Landon was yelling Daddy and ran over to the incoming lane of people trying to go through security where there was a police officer.  So, having to get Landon I didn't get the pictures that I had hoped but it was amazing.  Addison said probably 50 times that day "I am so happy we are all together as a family." That of course totally melted both Bill and I.  Landon was excited to see Bill too.  He ran to him and was just laughing!

Virginia Beach Seeing the Ocean!!

Addi and Landon were SO excited to see the beach.  It was the first time for Landon and for Addison the first time she would remember.  The thought is kinda crazy considering that their Dad is in the Navy.

Addison couldn't get to the beach fast enough.

 Time for one quick pose!
Landon was amazed.  I think there was a boat that he saw!
 Daddy and Landon

The water was cold...but Addi didn't mind.
Addi wanted to "play race" with Daddy.  Bill gave her a head start and I think he was sorry he did that!  Addison has some crazy long, fast legs!

Landon liked chasing the birds too!
Daddy's little girl...right where she wants to be!
two dirty kiddos after the beach....here is our little clean machine...I couldn't resist posting this especially with that little look!
