So while we were at Disney World I found a memory card on the ground. My first thought was oh no someone lost a memory card with who knows how many pictures of their trip on it!! It was in its case and was labeled with the name and address of the owner. GENIUS! I called the number on the card and it was their home number so I left a message saying that I found it and I would send it back. Well, I finally got it in the mail, of course I had to make a cute Mickey card to go with it!! And today I got an email back from the owner. She was ever so grateful. Ends up it had tons of pictures on it and she thought it was gone. YEAH!! It totally made my day that I was able to do something nice for someone else. She said that it was a bright spot in her day and that her tiny little town was having a rough week. She lives in Chardon, Ohio the site of the school shooting the other day! So it made me extra happy that there was a little something to make her week a little brighter!

Funny Addi story. I was giving the kiddos a bath one night and I was struggling with Addi holding still so I could comb her hair (big surprise). I was getting annoyed and told her to sit still and she looked at me with those HUGE brown eyes completely serious and said "Hakuna matata mom, it means no worries." Seriously? Who could be annoyed after that I just started laughing. It sure is funny how someone so little can put so much in perspective! I adore that little girl!

Busy Bees!

Bill is at school so we are trying to stay busy until we get to see him next weekend!

One day we made lotion, well really just combined some ingredients but to Addi we made lotion and that was fun. She loves to help with everything. She is quite excited to share it with Daddy! We even put it in a special bottle that would travel.

On Wednesday we excavated animals out of jello...we used unflavored gelatin. It was fun to watch the differences between Addison and Landon. Addi couldn't wait to squish her fingers in it...Landon wasn't too sure. Eventually though he had fun. Note to self....a great OUTSIDE activity!

Thursday Landon had a Dr apointment....no more shots until Kindergarten....yeah!

Everything seems to be great...he is a healthy happy little boy. The only thing I didn't know was if he could walk backwards...I just hadn't payed attention. Well today he was walking backwards up the steps....yup we can check that box!

Today we had some friends over for lunch...who knew that mac & cheese could be so messy?? Then Landon thought he should play peek-a-boo! What the heck...he was already messy! Oh yeah a new haircut too....I can't believe how long it can take to cut hair when there isn't much to cut! We went to the base which gives the best hair cut but you can't make an appointment we waited forever and ever. Then once the guy was able to cut it he would stop cutting every time Landon moved. HELLO we are going to be here all day if that is how you are going to do it! I ended up holding him and it was a bit better but it still took a long time! So hopefully it doesn't grow too fast and we won't have to experience that pain for a little while!

February 13th: We left the Omaha airport in the morning and arrived in sunny Orlando by about 1:00. Addi and Landon both were great fliers and there were no issues. When we were landing we hit a little turbulence and Landon looked at Bill and kinda chuckled. He wasn't sure what he should do. It made us laugh. We got our rental car and to our hotel without issue. Bill is a great navigator! Our hotel situation was great it was a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen! Perfect for kiddos! We sort of relaxed the first day knowing the next days were going to be crazy busy!

This is when we hit a rough patch...Landon's face was priceless!

Landon has become the biggest Papa's boy...he is so concerned where his Papa is at every moment!!

February 14th: Happy Valentines Day!! It was our first day at the Magic Kingdom...and Magic it was. Addi was so excited and so was Landon. They had changed things since I was there (a long time ago) and now you have to take a boat or a monorail to get there...there is a lake between the parking lot and the entrance. So we took the boat and the path was lined with heart balloons (neat detail) and the kids were able to sign their name in chalk on the sidewalk! Once we arrived we had a bit of a plan...thanks to our friends Neal and Cami who were there this past summer we knew what would be good for Addi and what we could skip. Bill jetted off to get fast passes and we stood in line to meet the princesses. So, we had to wait a little bit but when it was our turn....I was shocked. We went into a room with the princesses, us and some photographers. It truly felt like Addi was the only kid at Disney World! I was amazed! I think she felt so special. Shortly after the princesses and the Mickey's Philharmagic (it was shut down so we had to come back) we had to leave and jet to downtown Disney for Addi's Bibbidi bobidi boutique appointment.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was really cute! Addi arrived and checked in and then waited for her "fairy godmother". When they called her name the asked for Princess Addison. She popped up in the chair and the fun began. First she had to pick her nail color and hair style then came out the makeup...the real stuff!! She wore her own dress (Ariel...I tried and tried to convince her to be Princess Tiana but no luck!) so that part was already done. The fairy godmother did a great job at making Addi feel special. When she was all done she waved her wand and sprayed Addi down with glitter as she said Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo and turned her around. Then she had to sign the special autograph book. It was a super fun morning! After that we headed back to the park to meet up with Grandma, Grandpa and Landon. We found out that Landon had a favorite ride already....It's A Small World! My Mom and Dad said he loved it and waved at everything the whole time! We had to see for ourselves so we went on it again.

Later in the day we saw the princess parade. Probably one of Addi's favorites! When Ariel saw Addi she pointed her out and said "You are a mermaid like me!!" Addi still had her sash on from the boutique so all the "cast members" called it a out and told her how beautiful she looked and called her princess...I do think that Addi had a great time. Geez who doesn't want to be a princess for a day?

February 15: This morning we started out at Hollywood Studios and later in the day we went to Epcot. It was another fun day. We saw the Little Mermaid show, the Finding Nemo show, saw Turtle Talk with Crush, the Beauty and the Beast show...it was loads of fun! Landon did pretty well but it took a lot for him to finally give up and nap. They had it organized well so the stroller parking was in one area and the kids just came with on the rides. It worked out!

February 16: This morning we started out at Animal Kingdom so we could see the Lion King show and the Tree of Life. It sounds like there are a lot of cool animals to see but Omaha has a great zoo! We didn't stay too long and headed back to the hotel for naps so we could be rested to take in the fireworks later that night!

When we went back to Magic Kingdom we stopped in to meet Mickey and Minnie it was pretty neat....once again you felt like you were the only ones to meet them that day.

That night we saw the Electrical lights parade followed by the fireworks. There was also this show that was on the castle...it was cool because the castle would change colors and at one point looked like it was on fire. Pretty impressive!

February 17th: Friday, our last day...we didn't have a lot planned only to catch some of the things we didn't have time for. We spent the day at Magic Kingdom and Addi met Tinker Bell and Rosetta and we rode the carousel again. It did rain a little bit. We were able to sneak in places when it started raining and didn't get too wet! It also was the most crowded day with it being the friday of a long weekend. So the wait times were longer than we had experienced all week.

Our ONLY Glitch.....Our flight home was delayed....4 HOURS!! The reason.....get this....a sick flight attendant. I don't need Dt. Coke...get us home! Hey I will even pass out the drinks! That was insane! Our kiddos complained less than I did. We took our time having dinner and Addison LOVED the moving walkway. I don't think we would have even needed to go to Disney World. We also found all kids of fun photo ops at the airport. Once we finally got on the plane Addison fell asleep mid-sentance. And Landon was out as well. So we were home in the middle of the night but home safely anyway!

We had a FANTASTIC trip. We have lots of great memories and pictures that I hope will help the next year and what is coming go by quickly. It was awesome having my parents with...I don't think we could have done it without them Thanks guys!! I hope they had fun too! It was truly magical to see Addison's reaction to things. I am so glad that we were able to capture that for her and for us! I really think that Disney has done a great job and the customer service couldn't have been better! It was a great week!!

Baptism Weekend

I have realized that I have not updated the blog in almost a month! Oh My GOODNESS! That is so crazy! So, here goes to a whirlwind update!

The first weekend in February, after Bill's farewell at work we headed north! We were Minnesota bound for a weekend to celebrate our sweet little Lucas! When we arrived we found a little Lucas..who wasn't so little. It is so insane how fast kiddos grow! On Saturday morning we went to visit my Grandma and Grandpa in Sunburg. Well on the way home I was doubled over in my seat. I got sick....like flu sick! Baptism was saturday night and I was so sick! I made it through the ceremony but that wasn't fun...then at midnight...Bill got sick. So much for driving back to Omaha on Sunday! We stayed an extra day and were both feeling a lot better on Monday. I was so thankful that Gma and Gpa were there to take care of Addi and Landon. I seriously can not remember the last time I was sick!! I don't like it any better!!

Bad News and Good News

Yesterday Bill pulled out the map and told Addison what is coming up for next year. He told her that he would be living in Bahrain and that we would be staying here in Nebraska. She seemed to take the news pretty well. He tried to explain how long using a calendar but I am not sure she understands what a year means. Bill asked her today and she told him all about it. So since she seemed to understand the bad news today we told her that we were going to take a trip to Disney World before Bill leaves. I wrapped up a balloon with the princesses on it and she and Landon opened it. Bill explained what the balloon meant and she was pretty excited. Excited by Addison's standards. But she talked about it all day long so I know she gets it she just has her own way of being excited (she is her daddy's girl). It will be so fun to see everything with our very own little princess! And my parents are going too so that will be fun that they get to experience it too! We are all very excited but geez it is overwhelming.

January 5th, 2012 it was 60 degrees today! Bill and I took the kiddos to the zoo. It was more like March than January. We met some friends there and they had so much fun playing. Landon found a stick and just loved playing in the dirt.

Really has it been that long since I have posted anything? Yikes. I can't say I have a really good excuse either!

Well here is a little recap from Christmas.....traveling was WONDERFUL....I could deal with a brown Christmas every year. I am hoping for no snow next year as I will be going it alone.

Addison and Landon had so much fun. Addi got to do all kinds of special things for Christmas...she had her first recital at church, she had a special dance recital, she got to 'feed' the reindeer and leave cookies for santa. It was all so much fun for Addison and Bill and I certainly benefited from the excitement. We spent Christmas in Willmar with my family and got to see Lucas celebrate his first Christmas and my Grandparents celebrate 60 years together! They are truly amazing!!

All our Christmas wishes came true... fun times with family and friends and safe travels for all. Addison's only item on her wish list from santa also arrived. She wanted makeup (old makeup to be specific) She wanted the real deal. She didn't get that exactly but it worked. Landon he had a great time tearing open any and all things! He didn't care if his name wasn't on the tag. He is so opposite of Addison. I am not sure there is any part of him that is serious. He is trying to talk a lot more with "mama" being his word for almost everything. He loved his tractor and really loved his lawn mower. He opened it and it had a gas can with it. He looked at it and knew where to put the gas....how is that possible? Boys are just hard wired differently.

We have been BUSY....I guess it goes with the season. Addison has had a program at Church and a program at dance. She has really...shall we say... come out of her shell? She now sings her little heart out! It is amazing the difference a year makes. We have also had some fun baking cookies, looking at some Christmas lights with Nana and Papa and just enjoying the holiday season. Bill and I even got to have a date and we went downtown and looked at the skating rink (if you could call it that...I am a MN girl) and the lights in the park. It was enchanting. I do love Omaha!

We made a trip to the mall to see Santa and had story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

We have continued to have fun with Oliver. He has been in a little mischief. One night he left a snow angel made of flour. It was the best thing ever...Addison came running in with the news. He also left a trail of crayons one night to a new coloring book. Whoever thought of a slightly creepy elf on a shelf and wrote a corresponding book was genius! But it really is so much fun.

As we get ready to embark on Christmas we hope that the season finds you filled with joy and thanksgiving as you get to spend time with those you love. We surely are looking forward to more snuggles from our new little nephew and spending time with friends and family! Safe travels to all. You can look forward to an official Nesbitt family greeting probably about Valentines Day (it has kinda become tradition!!).

On December 12th at 3:28pm we were able to welcome

Lucas Roger Busiahn to the world! He was 9lbs and 4oz!

Steph and Lucas are doing well. Steph ended up having a c-section so she will be in the hospital a couple of days. We were able to make a quick trip up to Minnesota on Tuesday and came back today. I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Luckily the weather has cooperated very well! Lucas is the sweetest little guy! He seems to be a pretty good sleeper. I think he looks a lot like Trent. He is a perfect little baby that we get to call our nephew and cousin!

Christmas Program at School!

So this year Addison once again had a Christmas program at school. Last year she froze and spent the entire time looking like she was going to cry. This year she was singing her little heart out! Bill thinks she is tone deaf! She did a great job. It was exciting that Nana and Papa could be here to see her really perform!

Nana and Papa had a couple of large gifts to give and thought it would be easier to bring them to Omaha now rather than us trying to fit them in our car after Christmas. So, it was an early Christmas. It was kinda nice Addi and Landon loved it and got to play with stuff and didn't become overwhelmed. Landon got a wagon and had so much fun with it...they both did!

Advent Calendar

Addison has been asking for months when she can start her advent calendar. Last year we just had one with little chocolates in it. Well this year we got that one but did another one as well. The surprise for December 1st was a cosmic bath....oooo how fun was this....We had some glow sticks and we put them in the water and turned out the lights.....Addi loved it! And our little friend Oliver has been showing up in some crazy places! One day he left a trail of crayons to a new coloring book! Addison is still loving it and having so much fun. I think Landon kind of gets it too. When he sees Oliver he normally points and smiles. What fun we are having!

This little elf was caught in the act....I was making Addison a superhero cape at nap time and I didn't hear those little feet. Since she saw it I just gave it to her. Landon sure did love it after seeing Addison running around. It was a bit on the girly side so I will have to make Landon one of his own!

December is Here!!

So we are excited that December is here...we have a lot to be excited about..Christmas is the obvious one...but we are really getting excited for Baby B! Steph is due the 18th but anytime would be fine with us!

So the first weekend in December we saw our first real snow here in Nebraska (not too bad)!! Landon thought it was pretty cool. He only viewed it from the window but thought it was pretty great!

Addi and Bill also went again to see the Nutcracker Delights. Addison came running in the house afterwards, "Mom, I saw a big rat!" She and Daddy had a wonderful date-afternoon!

While Daddy and Addison were having a date....Landon and I did some baking at home....

Christmas Traditions...old and new!

Yeah....it is time! I have to admit that we had our tree up before Thanksgiving this year. I am hosting a meeting on December 4th and I didn't want the pressure to have to get it done quick like! I have to say it is kinda nice to have our house all festive and a little more time to enjoy it!

So, one of our traditions is that Addi puts the angel on the tree. This year was no different. In future years we may have to have a replay so Landon gets a turn too!

NEW TRADITION...
This year we have added a new tradition....Elf on a Shelf. It is a story book that comes with this little elf that you name, ours is named Oliver. Oliver comes to live with our family for the Christmas season. He watches the Nesbitt kids and reports to santa each night if they were naughty or nice. Now I have to say....the elf is a little creepy but it is SO MUCH FUN! I don't know who is having more fun with it...me or Addi. Oliver hides in a different place upon his return from the north pole. Addi has had so much fun looking for Oliver...and Oliver even left her a note when she was going to Grandma and Grandpa's for Thanksgiving. There is nothing better than seeing the excitement and amazement on Addison's face. She talks about Oliver all day long. She has even left a few notes for Oliver to take to Santa. The most recent one is telling Santa that she will not be in Omaha for Christmas that he will have to come to Willmar. Is there anything more fun than being a mom? (I really don't think so!!)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We made the trek to Minnesota...which wasn't bad considering it was beautiful out! I hope that this nice weather last through the new year! I do think that is wishful thinking though. I really don't mind a brown Christmas as long as travel is safe! This weekend Bill was able to do a little pheasant hunting and Steph, Mom and I did a little shopping. Addison and Landon got to do their favorite thing too...play toys at Nana and Papa's. Landon didn't feel the greatest on Friday so he was extra snuggly. Not that Nana or Auntie minded!

I am so thankful to have this time together with family. All too soon I will be missing my partner in crime and love of my life. I am not sure I have posted this just yet....Bill has accepted unaccompanied orders to Bahrain for one year starting sometime in February. He doesn't have written orders just yet but that is what we are expecting. It was a tough decision but we hope that this is what is best for all of us. It is one crappy year instead of two, which is what his orders to Norfolk were. The kids and I have a great support system here in Omaha and all our family fairly close. So with that we hope that the one year will go very quickly.

But, as it is thanksgiving I do find myself so thankful for what I would consider a perfect life. I have a wonderful husband who provides everything for his family and that I adore, and two perfect kids who really teach me so much. I have my family close and we are all happy and healthy! I am so very very lucky!!

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and feel as blessed as I do!!

Baby Shower for Baby B

So in mid October we had a baby shower for Baby B! It was lots of fun....we don't know if Baby B is a boy or a girl. If you ask Addison it is a girl for sure.....but she will tell you that Grandma thinks it is a boy. I am not sure. Even though it is SO hard not to know....it will be a great surprise for all of us!

So there is one house near us that goes ALL OUT. This is the person handing out the candy. She first asked Addison "Do I scare you" in which Addi responded "No" (much to my surprise)....then she asked "Do I make you want to cry" (I was thinking...oh no....she just might!) But Addison looked at her and said "NO!" I have to say I was shocked. We talked quite a bit how big people can only play dress up once a year and that she was playing dress up. Addi talked about it for a couple of days but she wasn't scared (whew!)

We had a fun trip to Vala's again this year. I really think that place is great! It is a bit on the cheesy side but it is still loads of fun. Included of course was a PHOTO SHOOT! Addi and Landon were pretty cooperative. Either way they are some cute little pumpkins....and we love them!

I really really can not believe that our little girl is 4! Addi's birthday celebration started on Friday when she brought treats to school. Then on Saturday she had a super fun candy themed party for all of her friends, Nana and Auntie! I think she had a wonderful day. She consumed her weight in sugar so I would call that a successful birthday!!

Addison's birthday was a fun Candy-themed birthday party. And after being at Megan's birthday party this summer really wanted to break a Pinata. It was fun seeing all the kids take a crack at the big orange owl. Addison and Daddy ended up finishing it off.

Addi had fun opening presents....she was still a little overwhelmed but did well and tried to read the cards first most of the time! She got lots of fun presents that she has had lots of fun playing with this week!

Anniversary Celebration....a bit early!

Sept 16- For our Anniversary Bill and I decided back in April that we were going to go and see Jersey Boys. My parents willingly came down and stayed with the kids while we had dinner at Dixie Quicks and went to the show. The restaurant was really good. It was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the food network. It surely could be considered a dive. If we hadn't gotten a recommendation for the place I am not so sure we would have gone there. The food was really good and the people that worked there were really nice. Well, if you don't mind be called "love" by a guy! I was willing to overlook it because the food was good!

Then onto Jersey Boys.......AMAZING. That is all I can say! If you haven't seen it you should. The guy that played Frankie Valli was truly amazing. I had to remind myself that I wasn't listening to a recording. I think this might be at the top of our list for favorite shows. Lion King still takes the cake I think....but it is almost in a different category. Great show with a terrific husband! I can not believe that we are soon celebrating 9 years of being married. Where does time go? And am I really that old? Yikes!

Mommy Addi Date

So today there was a craft fair at one of the area churches that a couple of ladies from my stamp group were going to be at. Addison and I decided to check it out. A couple of weeks ago Addison got to have a date with Daddy they went to see the Lion King in 3D....so it was my turn for a little fun time with my little girl. We had a great morning and she even got to pick out a treat at the bake sale! Here is my cute little girl!

Addi had to bring a purse and in it of course was a notebook and a pen (she is mine after all!!) So while we were walking through the craft fair here Addison has her little notebook out and is writing a list so she says! She just cracks me up!

So after church we had to stop at Sams to pick up a few things. Well Addison and Bill decided to surprise me with flowers....that Addison picked out. They were purple...her favorite color....when we got home and she gave them to me I of course was thrilled. I am pretty sure they were filler but they were beautiful to Addison and therefore to me too! She is a very thoughtful little girl (they have lasted forever!!!!)

Tonight Addison, Harriet and I went to Bill's Sing Omaha concert. It was a September 11th memorial. It was great! We had a great time. Addison and I both love seeing Bill sing. And of course he got to get all spiffed up in his tux! I am a very lucky woman!!!

We have been trying to get Landon to use his signs and he is SO stubborn. I am quite certain he knows exactly what we want him to do....he will just do it on his own time. Today (Sept 9) as we were getting ready to have Harriet and her boss (a 2-star Admiral) to dinner Landon used his signs like crazy. He and Bill were wrestling around and Bill stopped....he looked at Landon and he was doing the sign for please. He is such a funny boy who loves play rough with Daddy!

So the weekend after Labor Day our friend Harriet was stopping in for a visit. She was coming for work so she didn't bring the whole family...just the newest addition, Lillian. She was arriving late so I was getting the kids ready for bed. Landon was all clean and in his pj's. I ran down stairs to get some milk, came up to find him back in the bath tub with Addison. Talk about no progress made....oh well! He is a busy funny little boy who loves to be with his sister.....even in the bathtub after he is all dry!

Landon is walking....he is taking a few steps at once now. One morning (Sept 8) we were playing in his room in the morning and he really wanted to get to Addison.....so he walked. He took about 6 steps or so before he realized it and fell down. He is now climbing the steps like a champ. He goes up great...back down...not so much. We are working on going down on his tummy to try and avoid as much injury as possible.

Labor Day Weekend

I am a little out of order. I have had the photos waiting to be put on the blog and I have just been slow. I guess we are still trying to find our routine. We have had a busy couple of weeks! Here are some fun pictures of Labor Day weekend. We went to Minnesota because a friend of mine, Kristina, from high school was getting married. It was a bit of a reunion. While we were there we pulled the bug out of storage. It got a bit of a tune-up and both Bill and I tried driving it. We didn't do too bad. My Dad was a great coach! Addison and Landon loved playing in it!

1st Day of School

Today was Addison's first day of preschool...round two. We would have done pre-k but with the way things are set up she would have to wait another year to go to kindergarten so we just decided to do Mrs. Ziemba's class again. Addi was so excited that Daddy was going to go with her today. She came in and asked him while he was still half asleep. Addison was so excited and I think she had a bit more confidence going into it knowing she knew what was going to happen. On the way to school I asked her what she was most looking forward to about this year and she said, "Learning Numbers". That is the first time that I have had that response.

When I picked her up she was very excited and was willing to tell me about her day! She got to be the pet leader today and got to feed the new hamster named Smokey (I think). She was also telling Landon the Pledge of Allegiance at lunch today. Her favorite part about the day was Mrs. Ziemba "she is a nice lady mom" She even had to make Mrs Ziemba a card for the first day of school. I LOVE my little thoughtful girl!

We had a busy day filled with a hair cut and her first day of dance!

Bill and I went up with Addison to put her to bed and found quite a little mess. Addison had cut her dolls hair. It is the barbie head doll that you are supposed to do her hair....do it...not cut it! And we have been talking about hair cuts because I have one scheduled and we need to schedule one for Addison...but we weren't expecting that!

A Super FUN Weekend!

We had a great weekend. One of the last free weekends for awhile. On Saturday morning we went to the zoo....just so happens that it was conagra's company picnic...great! But it was still fun. A little crowded but not bad. It is so great being able to just go for a couple of hours and then go home! Landon loved the fish today. I think it was something that he could finally see all of being in the stroller.

On Sunday after church Addi and I had a girls afternoon. We went looking for a new outfit for the first day of school. And I was informed early on that it had to be a dress. So we go to the Gap and are looking around...they had a cute tank top...I showed Addi and asked her what color she liked...yellow, purple or blue. Well, she told me that she had to hold them up..then that wasn't good enough..she had to try them on. So she went into the dressing room and wouldn't let me come in "I will do it myself". So a few minutes pass and I check on her..."Mom I need another one of these (and she points to the strap)." It made sense because it was a halter style tank top. She stood in front of the mirror and posed with her hands on her hips...years flashed before my eyes! I am SO not ready for all that yet! We had a great afternoon out. Then when we came home we played outside with Daddy! I ADORE my family and feel truly blessed!

Orientation at School

Addison, Landon and I headed back to the Millard Foundation Preschool this morning. It was just for orientation today! We got to meet our teacher which is going to be Mrs. Ziemba again. With all the date changes and such we decided that we would put Addison in preschool again and then next year she could do pre-K then kindergarten. It will get a little messed up too with the move in the middle too. But it will get sorted out. It was fun to be back but it was sad too because Sophie and Mitchell are in other classes. It was strange not seeing Case and Renee there. I saw them afterward but it was still strange. Addison seems to have a great class...of 7 girls and 3 boys. I am excited for the year! What happened to my little girl? She looks SO OLD!

I didn't blog about my birthday! I had a great day! We had some friends over, did a little swimming, a little BBQing and it was lots of fun. We had SO much cake....which isn't a bad thing of course! It was great to hang out with friends and of course I was spoiled by my family! Bill bought my favorite cake and gave me really fun running shirts and headbands! After all that cake I'm gonna need a few runs!

We had some sparklers that Bill bought for 4th of July that we never used. I don't remember ever doing sparklers so it was fun to do them with Addison. She thought they were pretty cool! I was a little nervous but did okay!

Landon's Check-up

Today we had Landon's one year check up...everything was great! Addi had all kinds of words of wisdom for the Dr. "I got sick at my aunties house, I went to Cars with her...". She is such a chatter box but she was good little girl. She even got a goofy sticker before we left.

Tonight when Bill came home she told him, "Daddy should I tell you ALL about my day?" and Bill got the play by play (including the goofy sticker)!

Our little man turned one today!!!! It is REALLY hard to believe that it has been one year! Time has gone so fast! Landon is a very sweet, giggly, happy boy who loves to move! He is trying to walk and does so quite well with help. He will cruz on the furniture and pull himself up on anything (including the dog...poor Sidney). He loves to watch his sister and recently has really liked books. He opens them up and makes lots of sounds. He still doesn't say a whole lot. He will say Mama and Dada once and awhile but doesn't talk a lot. Probably cause he has a little girl who never stops talking!! He will tell us what a puppy says "woowoo" he says it in a whisper!

For Landon's first birthday we decided to go to Vikings Training camp. Although it isn't something he will appreciate now we hope that he will later! We had never been there before so we didn't know what was going on. We ended up getting in a line and it was for the autograph zone. We thought it opened 20 minutes before practice ended but we got there at 8:50 and were shuffled in line. We had to pick a player and then stay in that line. Bill picked the Vikings rookie quarterback Christian Ponder! We waited and waited and waited and at 11:30 they finished practice and came to the autograph area. We weren't too far back in line so we were able to get a ball signed for Landon, Bill got his shirt signed and Addi got a little card signed. Christian Ponder was super nice. When he heard something about a birthday he asked who's birthday it was...and we told him Landon's first birthday! And when I told Addi that this was the person we were going to watch throw the football on tv he just smiled and said, "I hope so." After a busy morning we left Mankato in route to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We celebrated a little giving Landon a cupcake! He surely liked his cake!

Landon's birthday is quickly approaching and I realized monday that we hadn't taken his 11 month pictures...so we did! It was a quick shoot in the kitchen! I bought these bibs with the intentions of pictures...good thing I did it now...they weren't too big even though they were 18 months! I was pretty happy with the pictures. Especially when I went to Costco to get them printed and the clerk asked me if they were professional. I thanked her for the compliment but came clean that they were taken at home!

Schueler Visit

We had a great weekend hanging out with the Schueler family!! They got here friday night and stayed until Sunday. It was jam packed with the zoo and oodles and oodles of pool time! The zoo was hot but fun. After the zoo we hit up Zestos for ice cream. As we were waiting for Bill and Mitch to arrive we told the man behind us to go ahead cause we weren't ready. He noticed us from having been at the zoo himself. He bought his two ice cream cones and had laid a twenty dollar bill down on the counter. He looked at us and said "its on me" and walked away. We were surprised and of course thankful! What a sweet thing for someone to do! I really want to do that for someone.

We had a great weekend! It is so fun to spend time friends that have known you forever!! Thanks for a great weekend guys!!

July 14 We had our second swimming lesson today with James. James is one of the instructors that was at Mockingbird community center. Casey called him to find out of he could do semi-private lessons in our pool. He said yes. He is a really nice kid. Addi was going to be brave and jump off the diving board and then thought again...she did go off but sitting down.

Nana & Papa's Visit

It had been awhile since we had seen Nana and Papa so they decided to come down for a visit. They came July 5th and stayed the week. We had lots of fun and did lots of projects too. Dad replaced the back door and mom and I worked on making an outfit for Landon's first birthday photo shoot. Addison's highlights would have probably included the pool and the ride on the ferris wheel twice..once with Daddy and once with Papa! It was a great visit! Thanks guys for all your help!

Grandma and Grandpa of course come bearing gifts..this time it was a train set. I have to say it was the best $2 ever spent. I guess a girl from my mom's work was selling toys. Both Landon and Addison LOVED it. Landon would see the train start to move and was like Godzilla trampling over everything to grab the train. It was so funny. I do need to get used to boy stuff. I wasn't very good at building that train!

I think a CowBOY hat is in order. I am not sure he is diggin the pink one! He surely likes the horse though!

Happy Father's Day Bill, my Dad and all the others lucky enough to hold the title of Dad. Bill is such a wonderful Daddy! We are so lucky to have him. I just hope that he knows how much we love him and how appreciative we are for all he does for us! Thanks for being a GREAT Dad Bill!

I hope that Bill had a good day. Addison was SO excited to give him his presents. We put them in a special hiding spot that she knew so she went and got them right after she woke up (at 8...she must be growing). She didn't even give away the surprise. I was so proud of her. Bill got some pages in his special Fathers Day book done...hand prints of the kids, questions that I ask Addi and a picture that she drew. The other gifts were a framed picture and an apron. The other gift is a fun lounge chair for Bill to use at the pool. No gift can express how much we love Bill for all he does for us!

Summer Fun!

Summer is in full swing and we have been busy...I didn't think we were going to have much going on but we do! Here is a little recap so far...swimming lessons are finished so we are ready for the pool...which is very close to being a-ok Bill was gone and I tried to be the pool girl...but I didn't do a very good job...I think I made it worse. Swimming Lessons

Addison had swimming lessons last week and this coming week. She seems to like them. It is pretty low key and that is how Addison operates so it works out. They are through the City of Omaha at one of the community centers. Landon loves to watch her. Addison in the middle of lessons usually finds something to tell Landon or wants Landon to watch her. Landon usually waves and claps for her. All his new little tricks are so funny. The newest one is that he blows kisses...well kinda...he smacks his lips and then smiles at you. I'll take it as a kiss!!

Really? I don't know where the last 10 months have gone. It really doesn't seem possible. Landon had a follow up appointment today for an ear infection and he was 22lbs. That is the olny stat they did since it was just a follow up. He is doing well and getting really busy. He thinks it is a great new game to wiggle out of his high chair straps and stand up in his high chair. Pretty much unless it is a 5-point harness Landon can get out of it somehow. Changing his diaper is a lot like WWF he is all over the place. He is standing up next to everything and is starting to cruise around. He has perfected his crawl though and that gets him places really fast. Happy 10 month birthday Landon!

So we were in MN this weekend to get Landon baptized. It was a great service at Bethel. I feel really lucky that all of our life events have taken place at Bethel. We baptized Landon at the 5:00 pm service in the Chapel. It was great. Pastor Mari is just wonderful. We are very blessed in so many ways! We were lucky enough to share the evening with lots of family. Landon's little outfit was made my Great Grandma and Nana and Auntie Pat too. He looked super cute!

Addi's FIRST dance recital!

Addi had her first dance recital. She had quite a showing in the audience...Auntie, Uncle T, Nana, Papa, Mommy, Daddy and Landon all came to see her dance. We were hoping we would see her dance anyway.... She did not fail us. In fact, she was THAT kid...the one everyone chuckles at because she chose to kinda do her own thing. At one point in the dance she was suppose to skip around and go to a new spot. Well, she decided a little early that she should go to her other spot so the teacher on stage had to bring her back as to not mess up the rest of the group. It is a bit similar to herding cats! But it was adorable and Addison had a great time. She was SO proud as were we of her. I think she is a performer just like her Daddy. Bill pretty much has a little girl version of himself I think!!

Addi's funny quote, "The audience said I don't wear no underwear." Her dance teacher said it but according to Addi it was the audience.

We had a great time when Andrea, Celia, Thomas and Auntie Pat came to visit. We got to do lots of fun things....go to the zoo, they got to see Addi's last dance class and it was Addi's last day of school...another few days of crazy...but fun!

Happy Mom's Day to all! Ironically, Jenni's Mother's Day started at 6:30 this morning with two children crying apparently unaware of the holiday. After some crafting with daddy, Addi and Landon joined Jenni for a morning latte and, of course...photo shoots! I can't express how much I appreciate all of the work that Jenni does taking care of me and raising two wonderful, adorable children! I hope all of you Moms had an awesome day today!

What A Boy!

This afternoon while Landon was playing this is what we watched...he is ALL boy. If Addison would have done that there would have surely been some tears! Landon thought it was great! He has been crawling up on the fire place mantel and either peaking through the window at someone in the kitchen or watching his reflection. He thinks it is so funny. When he gets tired of it then he starts making noise because he hasn't figured out how to get down. He is such a curious little guy!

Mother's Day Tea

I have been so excited for today! Addison invited me to a Mother's Day Tea at school. It was a poem, a song and some lemonade and cookies. It was SO cute! I was very happy that Addison actually performed! Woohoo! It was a bit smaller group than at Christmas so I think that helped and it was all the Mom's that she sees everyday. But I was still happy that she did such a great job!

So on Wednesday at dance it was picture day! So Addison got to wear her costume! She was so excited all day to be able to put it on AND wear make up. I just hope that she decides it is equally important to actually dance at the recital. We will have to wait and see about that!

So who knew that changing a sheet on Landon's bed would result in such fun. Addi and Landon were just crawling around on the crib mattress that was on the floor. Addison was pretending to sleep and asks Bill "Daddy can you kiss me to wake me up". What Daddy can say no to that! So after that this is the conversation that occurred.

Addison: Can I marry Landon?

Bill: No

Addison: Can I marry Mommy?

Bill: No they are in your family you have to marry someone different.

Addison: Who can I marry?

Bill: You have to marry someone very special and perfect

Addison: Like Daddy.

I think both Bill and I melted just a little! We surely do adore our little girl!

2nd Haircut

It was time for Landon to have ANOTHER haircut. I think next time he is going to go with Daddy! I didn't know how expensive kids haircuts were...$15?

Here is our little 9 month old TODAY even though he looks like he is four! It is getting really hard to take pictures of Landon...he doesn't want to sit still. The 9 month pictures could be a challenge!

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation week at Addi's school. So, Renee (Mitch's Mom) and I put together a book for Mrs. Ziemba. We sent some questions home and had the kids answer them. They were so funny. The kids really do love school and Mrs. Ziemba! Today at snack time we delivered a big cookie and the book to Mrs, Ziemba. I think that she really liked it!

A Royal Tea

Last Friday (4/29) to commemorate the Royal Wedding Addi hosted a Royal Tea for her and Sophia. It was oodles of fun to watch the girls. I prepared them some little tea snacks including Crumpets with jam. They really liked them. The two of them together are like two old women just chatting and having a good time. We are so lucky that Sophie is next door.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We were lucky enough to spend Easter in Willmar with Nana and Papa and Auntie and Uncle T. It was a bit on the chilly side but it was a good trip. Addison was really excited about finding Easter Eggs this year. She was all excited that there was a purple (her favorite color) egg under her bed. Landon of course was happy when he found a basket to knock over. He is on the move. He has been pulling himself on things now. He will get to his knees and not know what to do from there....yet! His little seal-like crawl gets him places super fast.

I took pictures last week of the kiddos...thanks Auntie Pat for the cute outfit! It was nearly impossible to get Landon to sit still. Addison on the other hand is all excited to pose! She is such a funny girl!

Last week we had an Easter Egg hunt for my MOPS group. Landon thought the grass was most interesting. Addison wasn't too sure what to do. She got her allowed 10 eggs and that was good. She got three Reese Peanut Butter eggs which would be great for most people...but she HATES peanut butter. So, she gave them to her friend Susie. Since it was too cold for a picnic at the park we had a carpet picnic at home with Susie and Maria.

Our new little trick...Landon will pull himself up in his crib to his knees and then not know what to do and start crying. He thinks that the chairs are lots of fun!!

This week Auntie and Uncle T came to visit and we got to celebrate Stephs birthday! Happy 29th Little Sis! That is just crazy and makes me feel OLD! But we had a great relaxing weekend.

Spring Break

So I am WAY behind on my updates but time just gets away from me. Addi had spring break the first week in April. There were a couple of nice days.

We were excited to prepare to celebrate Grandma's birthday with her. Nana and Papa rode to Omaha with Auntie Brenda and Uncle Jim. They came to visit Jim's brother but we got to see them too! It was lots of fun. We hope that Nana had a good birthday weekend! Thanks to Bill and my Dad we got our fence fixed too. The winter and the Nebraska wind wasn't too kind to it but it is in tip top shape now! Thanks for all your hard work Dad and Bill!

Making Grandma's cake...there was lots of love put into this one! Both Addi and Landon "helped". It was a fun cake to make. It was a new recipe from foodnetwork....I don't sift flower for just anyone...Happy Birthday Mom!

Yeah for a nice day. We got to go to the park today....

NEW DEVELOPMENT...Landon just decided, last saturday (March 27 - 7 almost 8 moths old), that he was no longer going to breast feed. This is the same kid who would not take a bottle from anyone. He will take the pumped milk in a bottle or sippy cup but wants nothing with actually breast feeding. I suppose I should be thankful that the weaning process has been so easy. It was the same way but not quite as abrupt with Addison. So strange.... It is easier in someways but pumping takes forever!

Kite Flying Time....Round 2

Today was a great family day. We had a little picnic at the park and tried to fly the kite but the wind wasn't so great. We came home, the kiddos had naps, we got a little cleaning done, hung some pictures then the kiddos were up. But the wind had picked up too...so Daddy and Addi were able to fly the kite in the front yard. Bill melts daily with the things that Addison says....

Photo Class

So, I have been taking a photo class...it is just a one credit class at a community college but I have learned a ton about how to use my camera. Now I need a lighting class. Lighting is tricky. I like to play around taking pictures...it is nice to be able to catch the kiddos in a good mood. We took a little trip to the park on saturday while Daddy waited at home for the water heater to be replaced (arr the joys of home ownership!!)

So this picture of Landon isn't great, I was trying to do my assignment that had to do with zoom and composition...but his little grin made me laugh.

So on thursday we got lots of a lot of surprises......Bill came home early (he was supposed to work late) and my Mom and Dad showed up! It made for a great weekend. We were going to install a new door but it ended up we ordered the wrong size....once we got that all taken care of...we decided to paint the kitchen. Thanks to my Dad and Bill for taking care of that! It looks great! It isn't' a drastic change but it looks great!

It is Bill's Birthday today! Happy Birthday to the person who makes my life complete and does so much for our family! We Love You Bill!

So, Bill has been doing this low-carb diet for awhile now and at work he eats A LOT of chicken...well, Neal, one of Bill's co-workers is an amazing cake maker and made Bill this cake for his birthday! I think we have our own master cake maker right here in Omaha! Thanks Neal and Cami for making Bill's day so special!!

We are happy to report that Omaha has gotten over 70 degrees! Yipee! Today, St. Patricks Day, we celebrated with some pizza at the park with some friends. It was great for Addi to run around and Landon of course loves being outside.

Landon has been working very hard on crawling. He has is own method of transportation figured out which is part army crawl and part rolling. He has been trying to get up on all fours and when he does he usually face plants. But he is doing better.

Daddy took the day off today so we were busy running errands and decided that we would make Landon's first haircut one of our to do's today. He was so good. The place we went Family Fun Cuts was really cute. They had all kinds of neat chairs for the kids to sit in and Addi had a great time watching Mickey Mouse.

I can not believe that Landon is 7 months old today. It is really exciting that he is getting more active. I may regret having said that come next month! He is so full of life and laughter. Some of Landon's favorite things right now....

1. His sister- Addison is still topping his list! Landon watches her every move and I think he likes seeing her hair bounce all over, he listens to her too he will twist all around looking for her once he hears her voice.

2. Toys- everything and I mean EVERYTHING goes in Landon's mouth. I don't remember that being the case with Addison. Sure a few things but not everything. Landon got some teething rings from Nana & Papa for Valentines Day and they are the kind that can go in the fridge. Addison is so proud of herself when she gathers them up and puts them in the fridge and then later goes and gets them for Landon. They were probably in there for 45 seconds but she give them back and feels so helpful.

3. Being rough, tossed and tickled, which leads to oodles of giggles. I really don't think there is a better sound in all the world than your child laughing and it is even better when they laugh at each other.

So we had a fun little photo shoot today at coffee. Casie is recovering from her c-section so her house is our new coffee shop. Tuesday and today we took breakfast goodies to her. It was lots of fun. We played around and took photos of baby Ronan...he is SO cute and very cooperative too for having three mommies manipulating him. Well, today with it being Landon's 7 month birthday we took his photos too. Renee made the ADORABLE hat...she is so good! Here are the results!

WITHOUT A DOUBT!

So Landon normally gets solid food before bed so he can sleep through the night. Lately we have been thinking that maybe he needs some at lunch too. Well today was the first day that I remembered and of course I had a big sister ready to help. I wasn't sure at first but thought I would let her try feeding Landon. She was actually pretty good at it. Addi was so excited. She went and got the spoon and was all ready. She was gentle and was pretty tolerable when he was sticking his hands or bib in his mouth. Now had I really been thinking I would have taken his clothes off..but a few stains are surely worth what I got to see.

New Car Seats!

I had to give up the baby carrier. Even though it felt like my arm was going to fall off it was so much easier than having to move Landon into a stroller. Now we need to either take the stroller in places or have him sit in the cart. Addison loves her new car seat and I think Landon does too. Landon can finally see stuff I think. And Addison likes keeping tabs on what Landon is doing. "Mom Landon is snoozing" We tried a cart the other day at Costco (I had to take a picture with my phone and it wasn't great). They both seemed to love it. But the carts there are big enough for both of them across. I am not sure how it is going to work when only one of them fits! We might see a jealous sister come out.

Question...what happens when Landon's legs get too long and he isn't a year yet? Do you move it to forward facing? Geez this car seat stuff is confusing! With Addi she was in the carrier until she was forward facing in the big one.

New Trick!

Landon has mastered sitting up! Here is when he was first figuring it out....he was hanging out with Daddy watching the news

Now he has really got it all figured out. He has started trying to get up on his hands and knees together and he did it a couple of times (Feb 24). But lucky for mommy he hasn't figured it out just yet. He still chooses to roll all around looking to be as close as he can to his sister.

Landon loves to rock on his tummy! He is just so much more active and rough than Addison ever was. Must be the difference between our cautious little girl and our rough boy!

100 Days of School

February 24th was the day that Addison and her class celebrated 100 days of school. Each student had to bring 100 of something and they even counted to 100! Pretty exciting stuff!

New Little Neighbor!

Our new little neighbor arrived safely on February 22 at 1:15! Welcome to the world Ronan Patrick!

He is so tiny and adorable. We went up to the hospital to see Casie and see the cute little guy last Wednesday. Mom and baby are home and doing well. We had a little amateur photo shoot today when we went to have coffee. They turned out pretty well.

I am not too sure what to do with Landon's hair. He has so much of it. We have noticed that it really has red streaks in it. I apologize daily and am very thankful that he will have a short hair cut. Poor little guy...red hair....I have already told him if needed we can dye it!

Landon is such a funny little boy. He is always moving. Playing with his toys he is either pounding them or eating them. I would say from what I can tell he is all boy! He has been trying to get his giraffe off his mobile for some time now he gets so excited. He kicks his legs so much you think he is going to fly away. Nana's Visit

My Mom came down last week and spent some time with us while Bill was in D.C. it is so nice that she can just drive down. She got to see Addi's dance class on Wednesday afternoon, have a play date with us on Thursday and then Friday we spent the day running some errands. Nothing too crazy but fun just the same.

So there is this sweater that we bought when Addison was small and there was a matching one that we bought for Grandma. It is pretty neutral so we thought it could be a sweater that all the grandkids get to wear in a photo with Nana.

Landon's 6 month Check-up

On Friday, Feb 4, Landon had his 6 month check up. He had to get 5 shots. One was oral but 4 injections. He did great. The first one he just kinda looked at me, the next one he kinda starte to cry by the third one he was crying and about 30 seconds after the fourth one was done he was quiet. It helped that he had his sister right there to look at.

Head size: 17 1/2 inches (70%)

I can't believe how tall he is. I know it shouldn't come as a big surprise since we aren't a real small family..especially if you look at my uncles!! Those genes along with Daddy and there is no possible chance Landon is going to be a peanut like his sister.

Landon is SIX MONTHS OLD!!!

I really can't believe that Landon is 6 months old already. Part of me thinks it has gone fast but since he still isn't sleeping through the night EVERY night some days don't seem so fast. Lately we have all had colds so that hasn't helped at all. And poor Landon has been working on teeth what seems like forever now and still nothing. Not even a little bump. But despite all that Landon is a happy little boy who steals my heart on a daily basis. He is trying really hard to move around. Thankfully we don't live in Italy the land of tile floors. He would have a concussion by now. He rocks his entire body on the floor with the hope of getting even a little closer to a toy, the dog or his sister. He is grabbing things like crazy hair is surely not safe as both Addison and I have found out. Addi is very gentle and patient with him. Landon will babble something and she will say "Mom, Landon just told me I Love You Big Sister" It is so cute all the things that Landon says to her. She really is a great big sister! Landon is sitting up on his own for a second or two here and there. As soon as he realizes it though he falls over. It really is getting more and more fun. I think once those teeth come in (hopefully all at once) things in Landon's little world and subsequently ours will be better.

There will be better pictures to come later but here are a couple I shot off today....

Addi today....she gave Bill a kiss and said "Daddy I just opened your heart and put that kiss in there and then closed it back up." Where in the world does she get this stuff? She is so lovable!

Family Weekend...

This past weekend we had a greet time. Auntie Steph, Uncle Trent, Nana and Papa were all here to visit. It was Pheasant Fest here in Omaha. So, while the boys went there the girls hung out. We were going to go have cupcakes at Island cupcakes but it was closed...so we had to have a krispy creme instead. Landon was sporting his Auntie shirt so we had to take a picture. The picture of just Landon is for Auntie Nette just in case the shirt is too small by the time we see her next!!

When Nana, Papa, Auntie and Uncle T were on their way home my Dad got a call from the Pheasant Fest people....he won the grand prize. He is such a lucky little turkey! Both Bill and I thought he was kidding. He wasn't. It is some expensive gun...out of all those people, over 20,000 according to the sunday paper, and my Dad won! Crazy!!

Addison is so excited about Ballet. So much so that we enrolled her in a class. She is now officially a little dancer at Mary Lorraine's Dance Studio. It is a cute little place not far from where we live. It is set up really well with built in parents days to get them ready for the crowd they will perform for in the spring. Here is our little ballerina!

Hard Wired...

It is so funny to me that kids are just hard wired to like certain things. If it is pink or purple and sparkles Addi loves it. Landon was sitting in his exersaucer last night and he was beating at his toys with all is might. The difference between boys and girls!
